Franklin-Simpson 14 Warren East 13

Wow! It must have been a great game! What say u ERaider and Wildcats fans?

Rainy, windy, messy game. East had first ball, FS held and took over inside its own 10, made 30-40 yards and had to punt. East muffed the punt and FS recovered at the 29, then drove it in for a TD, 7-0. That score held until the half. Neither team could get much around the end because of the wet field, both teams mostly ran up the middle. East tried one pass that was incomplete and FS tried none before the half. FS returned 2nd half kickoff about 25 yards but fumbled the wet ball and East recovered. They got inside the red zone but stalled. FS then had to punt, got a good roll down to the 29. East facing its worst field position of the night, gave it to #2 Willie Reynolds, who promptly shot up the middle for a 71 yard TD. FS, who had played VERY conservatively after getting the lead, opened it up a little more with end runs. On 3rd and 20 at midfield, FS Colton Hurt lofted a pass down the right sideline to a wide open Josiah Robey for the TD. I think the defender fell down on the play. East responded with another great TD run by Reynolds, about 40 yards around the right side, but the extra point sailed wide right. 14-13 lead held after FS drove inside the red zone and stalled, then held East to 3 and out. East punted with 3:30 to go and 2 timeouts, but FS was able to run out the clock. Reynolds for East may have been the best player on the field, and he is only a freshman. He will probably be playing somewhere in the SEC in a few years. Jerry Billups again did not play for FS, still nursing an ankle injury.

It was two teams that like the ground game doing what they like.

Reynolds of WE had 180 yds + or -. That was the WE offense.

I commented at halftime that the team that could complete a pass would win. With 17 sec to go in the third facing third and 18 from the 50 FS hit a 50 yd TD pass. The extra point proved the winning margin.

If Reynolds transferred to South Warren next year, he would be a great fit! Julius Allen will be graduating and that position will be wide open!

Nice...

Rumor has it, that Reynolds is going to Florida after the season. He is a great player, but if you give someone the ball 28 out of 34 times with a good line you can average 6 yards a carry and break one every now and then.

FS is loaded and W.E. is Reynolds!!!

Reynolds whole family has played at East...Shenard Holton, Eli Brown, Troy Brown, & LT Crackett...all have been at East, all have left with diplomas and two are going to have left with DI-A scholarships in hand...I don't see young Mr. Reynolds going anywhere.

Good game to both - WKY. 4a is very competitive this year

I want him to stay a Raider! It would set a terrible example to transfer to an in-district across town foe and for what reason? No good one.

I dread FS having to play against this kid the next three years, but it would be nice to see kids stay at the school they start with. Schools become loaded with talent that should be playing elsewhere, not necessarily because of outright recruiting by the school, but because a particular school is a powerhouse where kids want to play and their parents think they will get more notice by college scouts. I would rather be remembered for helping a school get its best season ever, even if it doesn't end with a ring, than to be just another in a long line of famous players at a football factory. I'm thinking about guys like Shenard Holton at East and Brandon Boards at AC-S who could have won a ring elsewhere, but will always be legends at their schools.
