  1. Did Ryle throw the ball during this game?
  2. No offense taken cricket91, glad you're a fan and I certainly am aware of Sweep's involvement in the program.:thumb:
  3. You're exactly right "History". Coach Mueller could have won this game a 100 different ways, but instead rested a ton of people and took the opportunity to work on some things. Beating Scott 62-0 may have made some uninformed fans happy, but would not have made the team any better. Someone said last night that the last two games played by Highlands was an attempt on Dale's part to lull teams into playing the Birds next year. I'm kidding on the latter. I talked to a Scott coach after the game who is a very classy guy and very complimentary of Highlands players. Scott is an improved football team.
  4. Exactly! That's why he doesn't need a 22 post JV Player to come on here and get his back.
  5. Congrats Conner! Good luck in the playoffs.
  6. The truth is an affirmative defense. Sorry just couldn't help it. Back to reading.
  7. I should just stick to reading.
  8. Covington Catholic wins this one and will meet the Birds back at DCM. I think they'll handle a struggling Ashland team in round 1.
  9. Not sure who invited who to play, but thanks to Boyle for stepping up, especially when most are declining invitations to play the Birds in 2011.
  10. Isn't this years senior group now 37-1 over their high school careers? You're right, hopefully they will get better.:thumb:
  11. Towles was 10-of-13 passing for 181 yards and two touchdowns plus one rushing. I thought Covington Catholic's coach showed he had a lot more faith in his sophomore QB than Mueller showed in is junior 17-0 QB.
  12. The next couple of years could be really challenging for Ryle.
  13. I think this is a must win for Dixie from a mental standpoint. I realize it's not a "District Game", but a loss puts them at 3-5 and would be pretty deflating to them. Holmes's speed and their ability to make something out of nothing may give them a slight edge in this one.
  14. I know Travis is now playing, but I would think Ryle might be a little cautious with him tonight, which is totally understandable. Ryle is limping into this game and with a reluctance to pass the football I think they'll come up a little short tonight.
  15. My first laugh of the day. That's funny stuff!
  16. The polling needs a third category, Ryle with or without Elliot. Sorry, but Ryle has placed all their eggs in the Elliot basket this year. The back-up may be pretty good, but the deficit is way to much to even get close to overcoming and with only a little over 300 yards passing for the year it even makes it less likely they will have much success without him. I don't believe for a second the lack of passing yards is the fault of Hemple. The coaching staff has for some reason, (Elliot probably) chosen not to throw a lot. Like most have said on here; Elliot plays Ryle wins if he doesn't SK wins the game.
  17. Highlands was Highlands. The defense strung out the jet sweep all night. Sleep in tomorrow boys!
  18. I'm not a naysayer at this point, but the longer they wait I think the more confidence they give other teams. Ryle is still very solid and the definite #2 in Northern KY.
  19. There are several different avenues to becoming a great quarterback. Towles is a young 16 year-old kid with a ton left in the tank. He will get faster, bigger and stronger and probably even a little taller. There are some similarities between he and his coach and there also differences. I will say if he improves as much next year as he did this year it will be fun to watch.
  20. No, No, No, we don't want to give the Bruns boys back. Besides being tremendous football players they're both gentlemen. If you have any freshmen remotely close to them please send them to 2400 Memorial Pkwy. My comment is not directed towards you Clyde, I'm just borrowing your quote.
  21. I'm sure the Highlands Bruns brothers are happy about one stat this year. 6-0
  22. Isn't this game being televised?
