Boyle County vs Highlands - 2011!!

Featured Replies

I have it on very good authority that Boyle County will host Highlands in week 0 of the 2011 football season. Renewal of a great rivalry from 2003 and 2004. What a way to start the year!!

Bowl game or a "regular season" tussle?

Good news! I first got wind of this on Friday from a good friend, but could not get it confirmed. Good News!

Who Ya With, looks like we need to plan another tailgate party for our friends up north next year. :thumb:

I believe this is only a home and home game for each team and not the bowl Boyle is planning.

Correct. It is a home and home. The new bowl is scheduled for the following week.

Heard this from a Bluebird who was right on the money last week. :thumb:

Had not had time to run out and check sources so Paul and Rebel, thanks for confirming it. It was a great two years when they hooked up before so here's hoping for the same this time around.

I think the "Bowl Game" will be just as well received and anticipated. :thumb:

It will be a good matchup to 2 quality programs.

Was this game being discussed before the recent realignment?

Yeah so do I....I heard it Friday night and was told it will be a Home & Home series with Boyle coming to Ft Thomas in 2011. I also heard some other very interesting match ups in 2011 for the Birds and some obvious ones that refuse to renew.....LOL!!!!

I bet we could all figure out who this is. I thought the old saying was "if you cant beat them, join them" but not in this case, its more like "if you cant beat them(ever), get away from them!!"

It's my understanding that the 2011 contest will be played at BC, with BC traveling to Ft. Thomas in 2012.

I realize it's a HUGE "if" for both teams right now, but if HHS and BC manage to win out and capture their respective state titles this year, they will enter this 2011 game carrying the state's two longest win streaks. Highlands' win count would be at 43 and BC's would stand at 30. Again, it is a very big "if" for both teams to win the rest of their 2010 games.

Great to see these two heavyweights back in the ring together. Should be a great matchup. On a side note there is a certain team from Independence that flat out refused before even being asked the question the other nite at a coaches meeting. LOL!!! Where ya at UKfan? Also, looks like Dixie and Beechwood will be stepping down as well. Too bad for the Birds as they will have to scramble to fill a schedule for 2011! Go Birds 20n10

Would be a game worth watching. What an off-season motivator for both teams.

I knew that if some teams dropped Highlands off their schedule that if Boyle County got the call, they would be one of the first to agree to a home and home series. Glad to see this rivalry renewed. I wish it was renewed last year. Anyways, I can't wait already.
