  1. I really like the way Scott County has been playing, but they have done this all year. Look solid and in control a few games then lay a dud. Neither team is your typical 11th Region contender. I will take the Knights in an upset. Lex Cath: 67 Scott Co: 64
  2. Good draw for KCC. PCC will have a tough 2nd round game regardless of who wins beween Breathitt or Cordia
  3. Do you think UK lands one of the big 3 left? If so who?
  4. With JC & SC tied and SC having won head to head both times that would put SC as 1 and JC as the 2 correct?
  5. Rivers seems to me A LOT like Brandon Knight last year. I think he is a little more athletic, but he does a better job at setting himself up for plays than his team mates IMO. Does not make him a bad player in any shape form or fashion, only diffrent than the last 2 best guards in each class (Irving & Wall). That is the way I see it. Bottom line Rivers is the best scorer and one of the elite players in this class.
  6. Irving was the best basketball player in college basketball IMO. If he had not been hurt I think he would have been POY. Since I take GT's opinion as truth if Rivers is a better all around basketball player than Irving I will LOVE watching him play next year, and I can not stand Duke. I even have an " I Still Hate Laettner" shirt.
  7. The Big East has not done as well as some thought in the NCAA tournament, but that does not take away from the fact that it was the best confrence in the country. Top to bottom this confrence could wipe the floor with any other confrence and that is coming from a SEC homer. The depth of the BE is unreal and simply because they do not have a Final Four caliber team people want to call them a let down. I think the BE is the example of parody in college basketball that is taking place. Just like in the NCAA tournament one off night in the Big East and you can drop a game you should have won. The talent is that even IMO.
  8. I bet they fired him for the orange suspenders he wore at the SEC tournament. That is worthy of being fired on its own. The NCAA problems and getting beat by 30 was just icing IMO.............
  9. Those are great acomplishments, but they are still against lesser competition. That was a HUGE win for Morehead and I am tickled to death they got the win, but his solid performance yet not great also solidfies what I already believed. That he dominated less talented competition and recorded super stats in the process. He may prove me wrong later down the road, and I somewhat hope he does, but even after the U of L game he would not be on my All American team.
  10. I would not call 12 & 17 dominating U of L. I think he is a good player but if I were taking an All Star team from the NCAA and only had 15 spots I would not pick Faried. He has set an all time record against weaker competition. I think it would compare to Travis Grant from K-State being considered an All American over Julies Erving since he scored more points. Stats do not tell the whole story to me. Just my view on it.
  11. Against the same team that allowed Harrelson to go for 23 points & 14. By your logic would you then consider Harrelson better than Faried since he put up much better numbers against U of L? I don't. I think Faried is a good player that has played against lesser talent for most of his career. I think he will be a good pro and plays as hard if not harder than any player in the country and has a great nose for the ball, but I do not think he is All American material. Just my view on it.
  12. I guess you could invest your retirement in buying Powerball tickets if you also like those odds.
  13. I don't know if Vargas could take him out. Sullinger is a tough cat it seems to me and Vargas is................... well not. All that would happen is Vargas would get hurt and then UK would be down to 6 players instead of the current 6.5
  14. I do not think anyone who has not played Ohio State this year has played a big man the caliber of Sullinger. IMO he is the best big man in college basketball this year. On the other hand Harrelson did practice against Cousins, who I thought was much better than Sullinger, so I do not think he will be overwhelmed by his size, strength, or athleticism. Is Harrelson better than Sullinger by no stretch of the imagination, but I do think he will be able to hold his own against him.
  15. I thought when I watched him early that Irving was the best player in college basketball. He can dominate games without having to score a lot of points, but he also has the ability to pile up points if needed. If Irving plays and is effective then Duke becomes the best team in the the field IMO.
  16. Basketball Game: UK by 18 Spelling Bee: Princeton as bad as they want.
  17. I was wrong also. I doubted him from day 1. Shame on me. Never again will I dobut anyone who has as cool of a nickname as Jorts.
  18. Ok sure. Maybe I feel to be considered one of the best players in the country you should have to perform on a night in night out basis against quality talent. The all time leading rebounder that is a great acomplishment but it is not like he played against the same talent as Duncan did when he set the record. I think Duncan's acomplishment is more impressive in the ACC than Faried's is against EKU and other comparable teams. Not saying that Faried is not a good player, but I would not vote him as an AA since he plays weaker competiton more often than not. Just my opinion, no point in getting upset about it.
  19. You are right both times. Not like he has done it every game all season.
  20. Before he went down I thought he was the best player in the country (even better than Kemba Walker). He did not score as much as some, but he seemed to control games from start to finish. He could dominate games without having to take them over scoring. I am a UK fan and pull against Duke, but I would tune in to watch this kid any day of the week.
  21. I will agree here also. I think the country has fallen in love with Jimmer in part due to ESPN's love of the "little guy" and his scoring average. I do not think Jimmer is POY material because of his competition night in and night out. His scoring average gets him some love that could or could not be justified IMO.
  22. I have watched him several times, a couple live, and he is still playing against weaker competition 85% of the time. I would take Jones any day of the week over Faried. Jones has done it against a major confrence and a good OOC schedule. So he (Faried) played well against Flordia & OSU I will give him that. Harrelson played well against UofL he is not AA material either. I think he will be a very good pro because of his work ethic and toughness, but I do not think he is one of the 15 best college basketball players this season. JMO.
  23. Congrads to Rowan I was pulling for you. Ashland was a good team but this just seemed to be Rowan's year no shame in regional runnerup. I know several teams that would LOVE for that trophy. On a side note any talk of Ashland people being upset about transfers going to any 16th region team would be a little like the pot calling the kettle black would it not? I mean lets face it Ashland had some good "Transfers" in the past and they may have come for valid reasons I just think people seem to have short memories sometimes. But I have no dog in this fight.
  24. I think Wall was a better leader and capable of dominating games without having to score lots of points. Knight is more of a scoring threat but does not have the leadership abilities of Wall. Also to me alot of Knights game revolves around putting it in the basket. The games he has played poorly he has not shot well where as Wall would sometimes score little but dominate the game with assists and making other types of plays. In the end I feel like John Wall is the best point guard I have ever seen play at UK. I never saw a player capable of taking over a game so effortlessly and have such strong leadership qualities. I think Wall & Knight (I would add Bledsoe into this conversation also) are all great college guards and we are blessed to have had them play at UK.
