  1. Duke has played really well in the tournament. Offensively they are as good if not better than anyone in the country. As a huge UK fan I still think UK is the better team and I like the way UK matches up with Duke, but it is hard not to appreciate the high quality of basketball they displayed today. Good luck to the Blue Devils the rest of the way.
  2. Tough Draw for SC. Will take 3 good games to win region. LC got the best first round matchup with JC getting the best draw overall IMO even though SV is capable of beating anyone any night. I think SC, JC, & LC are the favorites.
  3. Fact: UK is the last team in the state to make it to a Final Four. Fact: UK ended Louisville's season last year. Fact: Since 2010 Louisivlle has beaten UK 1 time Don't try to compare the programs on a blow by blow basis. Louisville is a good program and I still like Rick Pitino for what he did at UK, but even though UofL is having the best success in the history of the program it is still less successful than UK's.
  4. I would not hang my hat on an argument with Bobby Petrino and the word honesty working together if I were you. They do not go well together. Like bourbon and motor oil. LOL All kidding aside I think the overall practice is wrong regardless if it is UK, UofL, or the Sister's of Christ pee-wee team. Coaches should not hand out offers unless they have done their homework. You could argue that them backing down the offer goes against being honest from the initial conversation in the first place. Just my opinion
  5. Did this occur 2 days prior to signing day? Comments??
  6. Maybe, but if that was not disclosed to the kid at the time of the offer or at least well before signing day (kid claims it was not) then it is wrong. Schools should be held to a higher standard. They were formed on the basis of continuing education. If the offer changed one bit from what was extended it is wrong. Again just my thoughts. How would you like to get approved to buy a house and 2 days prior to closing the bank say we have decided we will lend you the money in 6 months when we have finished with these other customers. Same principal.
  7. I am a UK fan so I don't follow UofL regulary, but I do think this was a classless move. That being said offering the grey shirt is fine, but the commitment was 8 months or so ago according to the article. The grey shirt move should have been clear cut prior to so close to signing day. Now it is my personal opinion that Bobby Petrino is one of if not the single best offensive mind in all of football (from pros to pee-wee). He is also a less than par person, but if a single UK fan thinks our coaches are saints we are kidding ourselves. I don't mind kids switching schools and changing their minds because they are young adults and some of them can not even vote when they are expected to make a life altering decision. Schools do not deserve the same right as they are an entity that is based up EDUCATION!!! Because they found another high school kid that is bigger and faster should not be a reson to revoke the offer of a higher education made by the school originally. Ifthe kid qualifies academically and a scholarship is offerd and accepted the school should be expected to honor that as long as the applicant continues to qualify academically IMO. Just my thoughts
  8. I would not go as far as to take him over anyone in that region. Most of his major success came when he was flat better than everyone else. He had a run in the early and mid 2000's where he had the most talented team in the region and couldn't win it due to Shelby Valley out coaching him. He is a great motivator and his kids always play hard but as far as a basketball X's and O's and game plans coach Frankie Smith at SC can coach circles around him. Bill Mike is a great coach I don't want anyone to think I am stating other wise, but I think the statement does not do justice to other Great coaches in the 15th region. Just my thoughts.
  9. Duke is hands down one of the best teams in the nation. Now it takes young kids a while to realize how tough conference games are. NC State and Miami play Duke twice a year. They know the system, they have detailed scouting reports on the system. The energy and fight has to be there every game. Same problem UK is having. These are both young teams that depend on 18-19 year old kids to deliver. Both will be fine when the big prozs rolls around.
  10. Has Timmons got any touches? My cable carrier is not supported by Watch ESPN and I can't find anywhere else to stream.
  11. Anywhere other than Watch ESPN I can stream this?
  12. So of this kid is eligable what kind of rotation will Scott Co be looking at this year?
  13. In other news Cleveland is really glad Lebron left for Miami.
  14. As a die hard UK fan I think this move makes sense. I hate the thought of having to guard Russ next year but he enjoys the college life and will be the focal point of the offense next year. He could have a Kemba Walker type year and put him self in the middle to late first round with that type of year regardless of draft strength. Also he is a stand up kid and his returning is great for the University of Louisville, the City of Louisville, the state of KY, and college basketball as a whole.
  15. I do not agree with this in any shape form or fashion. Pitino is a Hall of Famer. He single handidly resurrected the All Time Winningest Program back to relevance after it was at its lowest point. Took Providence to the Final Four. And now has taken UofL from a strong middle of the road team when he arrived to a National Power year in year out with back to back Final Fours (and hopefully his 2nd National Title). No reaso to make this decision a personal one. It is a business decision an Rick Pitino is a Hall of Fame coach when you look at his professional body of work.
  16. I am a die hard UK fan and would not trade Cal for any coach, but this is spot on IMO. Cal is the best at getting the talent, but nobody in the country is close to Pitino in getting the most out of his talent. I bet Pitino looks at UK's teams the 3 previous years and says "I'd love to take yours and play mine". This year Cal was on the other side of that IMO.
  17. If John Wall had not been hurt to start the year he would have been an All Star this year. He is really coming into his own.
  18. I would hate to see Wiltjer leave but if he is more worried about minutes or shots than wins he may need to leave. Harrow on the other hand I will pay for the moving truck if he wants to take his game elsewhere.
  19. I think Prince was a low motor guy. He had the laid back California attitude and did not look like he was playing hard especially as a freshman. Given time Poythress may develop espically next year when he has real talent able to push h and compete for his minutes. Competition breeds success.
  20. Congratulations to JC. The overall better team won tonight. Media reporting that Parsley from SC shot 30 of Sheldon Clark's 41 shots on the night. You will never win with that kind of performance from your primary ball handler IMO.
