I am going to take the Bulldogs (or is it BullDawgs) in this one. I think Lawrence will once again win the district. Luke Salmons has the Lawrence program back where it belongs and even though he beats some teams a little bad for my taset does an excellent job coaching. I will be surprised if Lawrence does not win this one by 2 scores. I am going to say: Lawrence County: 36 Greenup County: 21

Yes. Lawrence is the best team in that district. If Lawrence does not help Greenup Co. or Rowan Co. (turnovers & penalties) then they should get the win. Coach Salmons has the Bulldogs (or is it Bulldawgs) back where they belong.

I think Putnam Stadium was the best place I ever played a high school football game. It was also one of the hardest places to go into and come out with a win. These 2 teams are evenly matched and this should be a dandy. I am going to go with the Eagles. To much JK Hall & JJ Jude IMO. Johnson Central: 35 Ashland: 22

Then you also know a team that is mistaken. I am not saying Simon Kenton can not beat Trinity, but Trinity is the class of 6A and if anyone beats them it will be considered a HUGE upset.

Congrads to the Hawks. Tolsia is way down this year. Radio announcer said that out of the 41 players for Tolsia 33 were freshmen and sophmores. The Hawks are putting up some big numbers and Boggs is throwing the ball all over the place.

That is a big statment. I would think a group of men from Louisa might have somthing to say about that. As for this game I think Grrenup Co. at home will give them a boost and I think the schedules played up to this point are comparable but in the end I think the big play ability of Rowan County will get the win. I'll say: Rowan County : 28 Greenup County: 21

I would not count out Sheldon Clark just yet. They have taken some losses and have some kids banged up, but just like last year when everone gets healthy they will be a tough out in the playoffs.

I did not nor am not trying to paint any type of picture of Coach Salmons. I think he is a very good football coach that is only getting better. He and his staff do a good job, but the fact remains that Lawrence County has beaten teams by very large scores under Coach Salmons. I do not approve of any coach or team beating another group of kids by some of the scores that LC has this year.

Lawrence County is a good football team and right now East Carter is not. I fear that LC will hang over 70 on East Carter. Salmons has showed that he does not care one bit to pour it on teams. I was even told by someone close to the LC program that he has been quoted several times as saying "My JV plays on Monday, my freshamn play on Thursday, and my varsity plays on Friday." I hope I know where Luke was going with this but when you beat teams by the scores of 67 - 13; 75 - 14; & 55 - 3 it does sound a little odd. Johnson Central is one of the most physical football teams in Eastern Kentucky. They just got took to the woodshed by the most physical team in Eastern KY in my book (Bell Co.). I will be surprised if Matney and the Eagles do not right the ship this week. Breathitt is solid and will be a threat come playoffs to make some noise in AAA, but I thik there will be to much Hall & Jude in this one. Johnson Central : 35 Breathitt Co.: 12

Ashland will bounce back they are a good team with a good coaching staff. Ashland will have to do a better job at controling the line of scrimmage if they want to beat Johnson Central for the district title, because as everyone knows JC is going to run, run, and then run some more. Congrads to Ironton, and good luck to Ashland you will be a better team for playing the lkes of Ironton IMO.

I am willing to bet that Highlands fills their schedule with Wins in 2011.

Very exciting hard hitting football game last night. Sheldon Clark has played a brutal schedule for an Eastern Kentucky AAA football team and it is starting to show. Lawrence Co. is a good football team that should win their distrct this year. Despite their record Sheldon Clark is one of the best AAA football teams in the state. If they can stay injury free and continue to get better they will be a tough out come playoffs.

Sheldon Clark is one of the best AAA football teams in the state. That game being close is no surprise to anyone close to the SC program. Knox is better than most think. Cooper I can't really speak for.

This could be a good game. I think Johnson Central is capabale of pulling the upset, but they will have to execute well. The Eagles moved the ball well last year and will have to do so this year to have a chance. I still think Bell is the favorite in this one, but the Eagles can sure make a game out of it. I think Pike County Central has come a LONG way since Chapman has shown up, but I still think that Pike Central is a little behind Sheldon Clark and Belfry right now. After watching all 3 teams play more than once (mostly on film) I think SC is a little ahead of Belfry who is a little ahead of Pike Central. It is hard to compare teams on film when they are not playing equally talented opponets, but that is the way I see it. I can see all 3 of these teams splitting the regular season and making for a mess come playoff time, or I can see any 1 team taking all the matchups. It will be a very exciting year for AAA Region 4 with Sheldon Clark, Mason County, Belfry, and Pike County Central all in the hunt I can tell you that.

I think Ryle has turned the corner this year, but I also think they have a few more blocks to go before they can challange St. X or Trinity. I still think 6A is a 2 horse race night in night out, but if Trinity or St X. have multiple turnovers I can see Ballard or Ryle pulling the upset with a great game. Good luck Ryle I am pulling for you.

Frankfort was a talented football team that was capable of big plays at any time, but Sheldon Clark absolutely dominated this game. I would be willing to bet that Frankfort only had 5 - 7 first downs the entire game. Frankfort's only scores came on a SC turnover deep in their own territory and a 95 yard TD pass on 3rd & long. Aside from those plays Frankfort was bottled up and knocked around most of the night. Defensively the Panther's stacked the line and tried to slow down the SC rushing attack by bringing a lot of people. It slowed down the Cardinals at times, but also led to some big runs when the backs found daylight. Overall good game by both teams. Frankfort is capable of playing deep into the A playoffs IMO.

Lawrence County should be ashamed. It was not that long ago that they were sitting at 0 - 10. They were on the wrong end of several blow outs and now they are taking other smaller teams to the woodshed. A lack of class by what I had always thought was a classy coaching staff. There is no reason to hang 75 on the scoreboard. Lawrence will continue to feast on their soft schedule until the playoffs when they face teams like Knox Co. & Bell Co. then it will be famine.
