Final

This was a good game and had a playoff atmosphere. Pike Central is building a respectable program, and they came to Belfry expecting to win.

 

The hawks had a halftime lead, 18-14. Belfry's defense played pretty good, but gave up 3 big plays, two of them on 3rd and long. Boggs, the QB for PCC was impressive, he sees the field well and throws a good ball.

 

Belfry got pressure on Boggs in the 2nd half and was able to pick off some passes and really limited the Hawks offense. The Pirates had about 400 yards of offense with about 350 of that on the ground.

 

All in all it was a great evening that could have been closer. Belfry gets the early district upper hand, but both Belfry and Pike Central still have to face Sheldon Clark. The next couple of weeks will tell the tale.

This district could very well come down to a tiebreaker. I could potentially see Sheldon Clark beating Belfry and losing to Pike Central, which would make them all 2-1. All three teams seem very solid. Nice to see good things happening at Pike County Central.

The more things change the more they stay the same.
