  1. I like Webber, but I like watching Shaq, Barkley and Kenny together. Webber was too calm.
  2. 2012 team would beat the Dream Team by 10 or so points IMO. It will be interesting to see where the careers of the 2012 guys stand compared to the 92 guys when they are all finished. Maybe no one tops MJ or Magic, but legitimately everyone else on the 92 team could be past by a handful of guys.
  3. Come on PP. The stats from the olypics in 92 are so skewed because of the large margin of victory. From about 1988 until he suited up for the Wizards MJ was the best player on any court he played on.
  4. MKG will get to the foul line a ton in the league. That can make up for a lack of a jumpshot. He's a typical young wing prospect for the NBA draft. Almost all of the really good one's lately have had to add a jumpshot. Guys that are great shooters at this stage seem to be guys with limited athletic ability for the NBA level, like Eric Gordon. Gordon is a stud but his ceiling isn't as high as I would think MKG's would be. For as good a shooter as Durant is now, even he had alot to work on as a rookie. At worst I think MKG will end up a guy on a similar tier of guys like Josh Smith or Rudy Gay. JMO
  5. I've always thought every post by the Guru should be accompanied by Vince McMahon's theme song "No Chance". At least the PMs he sends you when you've been banned.
  6. True. All stats need to be looked at in a vacuum. Advanced analytical stats would tell more of the whole story, which is why the NBA is probably better at showing which players are most valuable in certain situations. The NBA PER, gamescore, tightly contested percentage, etc. all tell more of a true story than NFL stats can. GMs and front office execs in the NBA focused on this in the last decade. Until alot more research is done in football, stats will never tell the whole story. For my money, San Francisco has one of the five best defenses in the league.
  7. I'm disappointed. He could have used next year to improve his draft stock. He's in alot of trouble in the league. He doesn't like to run the ball so its not like he could be used as a Brad Smith type and I don't think he's polished enough to play QB in the league. Someone will draft him and hope he's another Seneca Wallace a guy that could some in for half a game or two and keepthe status quo.
  8. I was thinking the same thing . :thumb:
  9. They had 32 hung on them sure, but they were going against teh best offense in the league IMO. Add in the fact that the Sproles TD and the Graham TD at the end were kind of fluky in an NFL sense and their defense wasn't that bad. If their offense was really good they would have won by 30.
  10. Depends IMO. Rushing YPC and yards allowed per game are an effective way to look at rush defense. Its a stat college and NFL coaches use to evaluate how effective their rush defense is. Passing stats can be flawed because if you win alot, the passing stats against your defense will be higher because teams will be passing more on you. So I sort of agree.
  11. Jodie was also a 20 PPG scorer in college and is bigger. Lamb is a tweener that would get destroyed by NBA PGs, and I don't think he could guard NBA 2s either. Either Williams can create their own shot, and I don't see DoRo being able to do that at the next level because he cannot consistently do it in college. I hope I'm wrong, but I think he's going to have a tough time.
  12. Defense doesn't matter? San Fran forced 5 TOs, without that they would have been destroyed. The offense played well too, but the defense was the key to their game yesterday.
  13. He's not the scorer that Williams is IMO. Lamb is going to have a tough time in the league no matter when he leaves unless he just goes to the perfect roster.
  14. Take Oregon off the list. Darron Thomas is going pro. USC vs. the SEC.
  15. I think Lamb wants to and will. I don't think he should. I think Davis and Gilchrist kind of have to, Jones needs another year but will probably go. If Teague goes I think he's making a bad decision. People are really hard on him around BBN, but I think he can become a really good PG with another year or two in college.
  16. I'm the worst dancer on BGP, but I like to do it from time to time.
  17. Vernon Davis is a great story. Singleterry may have been a terrible coach but he did a lot of VD. I love seeing that guy do well.
  18. In all honesty, he probably hasn't played too many playoff road games, but I get your point. The best shot anyone has to beat the Saints is to play them at home. At night, in New Orleans it is tough to beat the Saints. Back to Palmer, sigh . Seriously though, with what Harbaugh did at Stanford and now with San Fran doesn't he have to be considered one of the best coaches going? What would he do with a team as full of talent as the Packers? Would that even be fair?
  19. Lets face it. San Fran is for real. They may not win it all but they've been disrespected all year. Couldn't be happier for Alex Smith even though he took out my boy Drew Brees.
  20. This Olympic team is going to be epic. I don't know that it has the depth of the '92 team in terms of how guys careers may look when they are finished, but they are way younger and they will benefit from many of them playing on the same team IMO. The Big 3, Westbrook & Durant, CP3 and Blake Griffin. It won't take much for them to be ready to go. There really is no reason for any team to play them closely.
  21. What ILB's could possibly be better than Hightower? He is a flat out stud.
  22. Prediction: Unless LAL pick up DHoward this season is going to kill the rest of Kobe's career. He is so competitive that this shortened season is going to take alot out of him.
  23. I think Darius will play in the NBA. He's versatile, can hit the outside shot, and knows his role. He is the very poor man's Shane Battier.
  24. You may be right. I just don't think too much stock can be put into anything this regular season.
