I don't know a lot about Lewis County this year. But, I look for Raceland to use a lot of different combinations and a lot of reps for many different players to make the final determination on some starting positions. Raceland currently has an eight man line and the starters are going to have to be narrowed down. Plus, there are about five receivers and only three positions, so there will be a lot of reps there as well.

 

I see this as an opportunity for to find what players will be starting for the Young Rams, and what players will be in the rotation that sees some quality minutes. Make or break time.

As usual I never make predictions about NEKY games, but I will be at this one. Hope to see alot of my old Ram buddies out. I hope both teams have a productive and injury free scrimmage that gets them ready for the season.

Ram is correct regarding make or break time for the Rams. I venture to say, we will run a lot of base plays and at times, won't look too well. Some parents/fans may be slightly disappointed in what they see but Fri. night is not about the score, it is about finding 11 men for our offense and 11 for the defense. Also, playing the Grid @ East Carter and then turning around and playing East Carter next week in the opener equates to not showing too much of what we have. Trading film and seeing a team live are 2 different animals.

Only thing to predict about a scrimmage is not a prediction. I am sure that coach Maynard is going to use this as its supposed to be. Check different combinations, players and execution. This "Lambs" team, from all reports, has been impressive with their work ethic and attitude. At this point I am sure that they are tired of hitting each other and should be looking foward to laying the pads on another team. Now is their first test lining up across from someone with a different jersey on.

Just like every year in the past I have complete confidence in the great Rams coach and coaching staff to work on the things that they need to. Raceland has been blessed through the years with excellent coaches. Larry Heck, Roger Snyder, Eddie Michaels, Mike Jones, Bill Tom Ross, Randy Vandrhoof and now T.J. Maynard has the reigns and is an outstanding coach with a great staff.

I guess this is my first long post of the season (and probably some are hoping its my last :lol:) Everyone has been talking and raving about how this team is hard working and willing to do what it takes to get better every day. SO......MY pep talk so to speak is for the fans. All fans......please let the players play, the coaches coach and support them. Just as with the players and the team negativity breeds negativity and nothing can tear a team/season up any quicker no matter who it is coming from.

The new C.O.O. of the WWE says that the young Ramblers in training don't have full fledged horns yet, but will be fun to watch. Those little nubs may be horns by midseason though.

Well, the grid game IS scheduled for 6:30. :lol:

I expect to see our "lambs" play well. Not perfect, but well. I also expect the coaches to demand 110% effort on every play or they may find themselves in a back up role. I don't think the kids practiced very well this week but I expect maximum effort tomorrow night. I know they have been warned that no one's position is safe and that if they don't hustle, someone will take their place.

Did rambler state in big letters that the 2010 season is here? Is this a typo or is he giving up on this year and waiting for next year which would be 2012. By the way if they gave state titles to fans, you guys would win the 1A title every year and I do not mean that in a negative way. We are the champs and you all posts way more than us or the other NKY big boy that is in 1A

Yes I did get the year wrong, we are going to be pretty dang good in 2012 but that is next season. I fully admit to my "old"rambler brain fart :lol:. Should read many of our threads then you will no doubt find others. Hey, I am friends with sidelinedoc and Ram. I do the best I can with what I have to work with. :thumb:

Yes I fully realize that tommorrow night kicks off the 2011season! I am excited to get another Raceland football season going. Football season in Raceland is the holiday season.

And some of us older Rams as well...LOL.
