Of course I am going to be somewhat biased in this but there is no question the amount of pride the players, the coaches, and the town has for the Dayton football program. It amazes me the amount of support these boys recieve no matter what their record says. Davis field is the place to be on Friday nights whether the game is a for sure win or could turn into a blowout. The fans will be there supporting their boys. This is also true for every small city in the NK area (Bellevue, Newport, Ludlow ect...). Pride will never be a question for any of these schools. As for them to improve they need to work on the men up front in the trenches. Sherlock and Richardson will put in their stats, but the season IMO will ride on the line on both sides of the ball. If their young line can step it up and play a single unit this team could become a very productive team. The foundation has been laid at Dayton for a program to begin building. The city itself is growing rapidly with three huge construction projects underway, and the football program is growing just as fast. In '04 they were 3-7, '05 4-6, '06 6-4, and in '07 8-3. This is a direct effect of the coaches and the hard work these boys have put in. Good luck to the Devils and I will be there to enjoy the season.

High School player who never made it to college.
O-Line 50 replied to A-town Iceman's topic in KY Football (High School)
Jason Skirvin was a talented running back out of Dayton in the mid 90's, he went to Georgetown and was unable to finish his career there because of medical reasons. Was a real shame to see that happen, could have been a very good player there. -
Went to Dayton and still cheer for them!! Go Devils As for college GO BIG BLUE!:ylsuper:

9th Region Coaches - up and coming
O-Line 50 replied to frmwaydwntwn1212's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
These coaches have done an excellent job with this years team because of the extreme youth on the team. They start two seniors with the rest being 3 sophomores. They also only have one or two juniors on the team so this coaching staff has done a great job with the young talent on the team. Keep it up! -
:thumb:... Was a very competitive game for the first 3 quaters then Beechwood pulled away in the fourth. As Dayton matures they could become very competitive and will be able to win games like this down the road.

Just wanting to make a point about the Dayton middle school teams, a boys team with only one 8th grader and the rest 7th graders played in an 7th and 8th grade league and only lost one or two games all year. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, the Dayton middle school girls team went undefeated or only lost 1 game all season. Also, both varsity teams are very young dominated by juniors and sophomores. So the youth leagues are defently paying off in a big way and many thanks to coach Dilts and his family for their time.:ylsuper:

Ludlow at Dayton Predictions 12/7
O-Line 50 replied to greendevil's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Dayton also played very well in the first half of the spca game and were up one time by 10 or something close to that. They came out the second half and shot horrible but was still in the game the whole time with good hustle and defense. Don't know much about Ludlow, but good luck to Dayton. -

LCA vs. Beechwood 1A State Championship (Take #2)
O-Line 50 replied to a topic in KY Football (High School)
Beechwood just has way too much talent this year, and they are finally playing like they could before. Good luck Beechwood and lets bring three trophies back up north. Beechwood: 42 LCA:21 (maybe 14 couldn't decide ) -
Highlands vs. Bowling Green 5A State Championship
O-Line 50 replied to RoadRunner's topic in KY Football (High School)
Not me... Highlands has an excellent team this year, and not only are they very talented but they also play as a TEAM where no individual really sticks out of the crowd (which is a really good thing). I don't know too much about BG but I just don't see anyone stopping Highlands this year, but good luck to both. Highlands: 35 BG:21 Good luck Highlands, lets bring three of those trophies back north. -

Nice win NCC, lets bring THREE titles back to NKY. -
Nice win Beechwood, I expected to see Beechwoods line take the game over in the second half and they did just that according to the numbers above. Also would like to say good season Frankfort, might get another shot at Beechwood next year. Good luck Beechwood, lets bring three trophies back to NKY.

Your Emotional State in a Game
O-Line 50 replied to Mayfieldsportsfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
I would have to say I was very emotional before games, but once the games started I just seemed to get into my grove and go to work against the other team. I would be extremely pumped up before games, not really yelling and screaming but more like staring down the other team and other things like that. After that first contact of the game I would settle down and go to work. Man I miss those days -
You havent seen Highlands or Cov Cath play this year then have you? Beechwood faced them both. I am by no means a Beechwood fan they are one of our district rivals (would like them to win the title though for NKY), but I have seen Beechwood play twice and I must say they are the best team in the state in 1A and should win this game and the next game by a couple of TD's.

Don't know much about Trinity other than they are probably the best team in the state, but I have seen Boone play and Farris is a warrior and a heck of a running back. Go Boone bring a 6A title to NKY!! I see Boone by 3 in a battle:thumb:

I think this game will be close the first half, but Beechwoods dominating line take over the game in the second half and wear down Frankfort. Good luck to both Beechwood: 35 Frankfort: 21

Cincinnati Saint Xavier 29 Colerain 14
O-Line 50 replied to jimmyref's topic in KY Football (High School)
Oh don't get me wrong I know that these teams have amazing talent as well, I'm just saying I don't think they could play with Cincinnati St. X or Colerain for that matter. Just MO. -

I highly doubt Highlands would be afraid of anyone... -

I don't see Highlands being stopped on the road to L'Ville. Highlands: 45 LCC: 21 Good luck to both -
Cincinnati Saint Xavier 29 Colerain 14
O-Line 50 replied to jimmyref's topic in KY Football (High School)
I cannot comment on the L'ville teams (have never seen them play), but I have a hard time believing they could compete with Cincinanti's big dawgs. Their big 4 are all amazing year in and year out. -
Cincinnati Saint Xavier 29 Colerain 14
O-Line 50 replied to jimmyref's topic in KY Football (High School)
I went to this game and I am just amazed at the talent these two teams have. St. X not only has Ashley running the ball, who is the fastest and quickest back I have ever seen at the high school level, but they threw all over Colerain. They looked like small college teams out there and the atmosphere was insane, there was every bit of 25,000 at the game. I will be surprised if St. X don't go to number 1 in the nation because in reality they dominated the game, the game was never really close, IMO. Anyways what a high school game to go to. -
Beechwood 35 Bellevue 2 (1A)
O-Line 50 replied to All Play No Work's topic in KY Football (High School)
Well was surprised to hear the came was only 21 to 0 at half (?) thought it would be a little worse than that so I thought Bellevue played well until I came into this thread. Sad to hear Bellevue played so dirty, not very good for that program. Anyways good luck to Beechwood, should bring another ring home for the district.
