Bluto glad your back and glad you put the family first! It is a shame the other thread got closed down, might have been a record for posts on a thread before it was said and done.

 

Anyway, how ironic that Beechwood has been limping around all yr up until the state championship game. My sources say that the trainer finally has the entire team healthy and ready to go, at least 95%. W/a fully healthy team I can't imagine them getting beat. The line is a dominating force, w/powerful and flee footed backs and a QB that can run like the wind and throw BB's to WR(Daniels, Amelung, Downton, Spence) who have really stepped up since the playoffs began.

I certainly agree with you...everyone is showing up at the right time. If one takes a look at Beechwood's record they are one play and one series away from an undefeated season(so far). They have so much talent this year that they were able to get away with playing poorly earlier in the season, now they have finally turned on the switch and something seems to be clicking at the perfect time. What more can be said about the Beechwood football program and their outstanding tradition? Beechwood has been a model for all class A schools football programs. I respect the Beechwood tradition and their fans.

 

Having said that (and I mean every word) I know that Beechwood will be a big favorite in this one and should be. I just have a gut feeling about LCA this season. I said that on the pre season post as well that imo it would come down to Beechwood and LCA this season (one of the few times I was right on predictions). Good luck to both teams, I have all the respect in the world for both. I have to pull for LCA though (our district). I think that the Eagles can pull off the upset. So after all of my "rambling" on..........

I just decided to the copy/paste to put this same post of mine that was on the first thread. Good Luck to both teams. I will be pulling for LCA , Coach Rains and their fans that I have become friends with are all class. (Bluto's a little out there :eek: but he is still a very good guy and all class :thumb:).

I also will say that the Beechwood people are all class as well, Raceland has been treated very good by the Beechwood people. coaches, players and fans in all the many times we have met. (well, except for Beechwood winning everytime, that is not very hospitable at all....:D)

Thanks to Bluto for the info on LCA's record. After seeing LCA play at Loyd and now being aware of what they have done this year elseware, I am convinced their fate is sealed. I don't believe they have played a team yet that is anyware close to having the talent of Beechwood. They allowed almost 50 points to Corbin, Breathitt & Hazard. Granted they came back and defeated Hazard, but in the scope of things "It is what It is", their D can not deal with a team that has any kind of above average offense. Now they have to take on the best offense they have ever seen and the best D they have ever seen. On top of that, Beechwood is peaking and our team focused and angry about what transpired the last time we met. Those chants by LCA's fans and team members of "Over Rated - Over Rated" will come back to haunt them. It's just more fuel for the fire !

 

I look for the game to be semi-close until mid-2nd quarter. Then as LCA's D will collapse. Their bodies will be hurting from harder hitting than they have experienced to date, their minds will be racing because they they won't know where we will will hit them next, they will be confused and dazed by all of the weapons Beechwood has. By mid-3rd quarter their spirit will be broken and Beechwood will cruise to another State Title.

I will agree with all said about both programs.

Beechwood always has a good program.

LCA is building that.

Both have great coaches and great players.

 

Good luck to everyone hope there are no serious injuries.

 

But like Paris Pride and OldRambler, I am pulling for our district.

LCA is pulling the upsets thus far!:thumb:

The following 2 quotes are from my friend, EagleEye, and were made 2 years ago. He eloquently states the respect that LCA (and other schools) have for what Beechwood has accomplished: your tradition, tough schedule and quality teams, year in and year out.

 

I respect Coach Yeagle, Beechwood tradition, and the strength of schedule of Beechwood - afterall, they are 8-3 and still ranked in the top 5 in Class A! Nuff said!

 

However, LCA has the respect this year of those who are paid to study these things and are ALSO ranked in the top 5...LCA's GOALS are to be like Beechwood - that is a compliment! LCA DOES have 1st-2nd graders wearing LCA Football jerseys around because we know HOW to build a program as well - it starts in ELEMENTARY(our 3rd year of having it) and builds from there. Granted, LCA does NOT have the playoff experience of a Beechwood - but WHO does! Beechwood is rich in tradition and they know HOW to play Football!

 

Give our kids SOME credit boys - THEY have paid their dues since 7th grade - believe me on that. And I do not mean they got to win a bunch of games either - on the contrary - they got their heads beat in up to their Sophomore year and they know what they are working for and they KNOW what stands in their way -

 

THIS will be a VERY good game, regardless of the outcome. Go EAGLES!!!

The schedule is the schedule...LCA beefed up its schedule this year and that earned us some respect.

 

We have NO CONTROL over what DISTRICT opponents we play or how good/bad they are - we just have to play them and hope for the best...

 

WHAT did Beechwood look like after its 5th year of Football? Did you have TRADITION then? Step back and look at LCA's program and understand that COach Rains has done a tremendous job with this group of Seniors he took over as Sophomores (8-3 in 2003, 8-3 in 2004, 10-1 this year)...LCA is too young to have a TRADITION yet...

 

Beechwood has GROWN into being able to play the schedule you do and I think LCA wants to get to that point as well - Beechwood, NCC, Bellevue and Northern KY football is AWESOME and I am a huge fan of the top quality athletes and coaches up there! Envious actually...At least we want to emulate the BEST programs! :)

 

Good luck to both teams and let's pray for NO INJURIES to anyone tonight.

This is from the heart. What gets annoying is that it seems that many (not all) Beechwood supporters just don't extend respect to other programs (read the entire thread). Other teams' schedules are denigrated, no team has as many athletes, no one has faced a team (line) like Beechwood, no one can possibly match up. It just gets tiresome (to MANY of us around the state).

 

If you get negative responses, that's why.

 

Some of you will dismiss this. That's fine. You're big boys and girls. Do what you want with this.
