  1.:lol: What was the score of last years game crush? Just curious. NKy brings it down south every year :thumb:
  2. No, not because they play in NKy, but because they play better than Frankfort and come in with a better game plan. I personally think it will be a close and enjoyable game.
  3. Not a chance, IMO. And yes they have Dayton plays in NKy, they see good players every week.:banana:
  4. Okay here goes nothing… Because I have not seen Frankfort play, my prediction will probably be about as accurate as Frankfort fans that have not seen Dayton play. But from what I have gathered they have a solid running game with the good back they have. I haven’t heard much about their line so it is hard for me to comment on that. With that said, I would dare to say that Sherlock is a better QB than Frankfort’s at throwing and scrambling. The key for Frankfort to win is to establish the run on Dayton and keep the ball out of Sherlock’s hands. If Dayton can get them in three and out situations it could be a long night for the Frankfort D. Dayton needs to come out and play exactly how they did Friday night against Carroll. Many predicted Carroll to win that game and Dayton was up 50 to 7 at one point. Sherlock was on target, and Dayton dominated the line of scrimmage. If Dayton can bring this same game plan down the capitol I look for Sherlock and Richardson to have big games. IMO, the game comes down the two lines. Whoever wins the line of scrimmage wins the game. Good luck to both, as I will be in attendance. :thumb: Dayton: 35 Frankfort: 28
  5. Dayton played an excellent game and came in with a great game plan thanks to the coaches. Sherlock had his best game of the year and was on target all night. Richardson was throwing huge blocks all night and ran the ball very solidly. I haven't seen Carroll until Friday night so I can't say if they played bad or Dayton was just that much better. Either way, I hope Dayton can bring this momentum down to our state's capitol for this weeks game. Good luck to both teams next week!
  6. Can someone add a poll to this one. My prediction will come a little later.
  7. Dayton seniors step up for their senior night. Richardson and Sherlock both have big nights against Carroll. Dayton: 35 Carroll: 21
  8. I think he has the opportunity to be one of the greatest presidents in our great country's history. He is coming into office at a horrible time. The economy is bad, we are in two wars, and a lot of the world hates us. The view of America has risen greatly with this election, and hopefully it can bring America back to its grandure it once held. He has a stacked deck against him, but all we can do now is support him and support this great country and hope he can stear us in the right direction. Good luck to him!:thumb:
  9. Yes, he is a very good ball player. He fills holes very well, and can read plays very fast. I looked for him to be a stud LB for three years to come.
  10. As of right now Schwerjohn is the back up QB and is a solid passer. He has gotten a lot bigger since his freshman year when he started QB for the frosh team, but he is still a decent athlete. Rogg is an excellent talent for Dayton. He is a stud on the basketball team, and he is a very good football player for it being his first year in the Dayton system. I look for a race at the QB position next year, which will bring out the best of both of them. As for who they are bringing back next year, they bring back everyone but a few starters. Richardson and Sherlock will be big loses, but they bring back their whole line except for one, and they bring back all of their skill players. Dayton should be able to turn heads next year, but I'm still looking forward to this week against Carroll County and next week when we travel down to state's capitol for a little playoff action. :ylsuper:
  11. Good hard hitting game by both. Congrats to the Newport seniors for winning on their senior night. Dayton fumbled two recieving punts, and had I think two fumbles inside of their own 30 which does not help. Good game though. Who does Newport play next week and the first round of the playoffs?
  12. Even though Dayton does have a bad record from the tough schedule they have played, I do think that it has prepared the team better throughout the season. Because this Dayton team is so young, only starting 3 or 4 seniors, the experience these younger kids get from playing in competive football games is excellent. Granted, Scott and Holmes both beat Dayton this year, neither game was a blow out and Dayton beat both of them last year. I'm not sure if Holmes is going to stay on the schedule, but I would like to see Scott stay on there, and a good 1A team in a team like Lynn Camp. I'm not saying Bellevue's schedule is weak, but I think it does benefit a team to play a solid out of conference schedule. Anyways, as for the game, I see Bellevue winning pretty easily. Good luck to both
  13. I like the idea. I'm sure someone can think of something creative.
  14. The fence was awesome. It was very intimidation to visiting teams because it would just echo all of the noise coming from the stands. When it was getting old the chipped white paint revealing the rusted metal was also a very nice touch too.
  15. Sorry to tell you, but most people in the area would rate Dayton's stadium much higher than most. Not the cosmetics of the stadium, but just the feel and atmoshphere of it. I have been to Scott many times, and believe me I am not impressed. Dayton is a 1A school and their stadium holds WAY more people than Scott's does, and Dayton brings more fans than Scott does and they are a 5A school. So lets do the math here... 1A school has bigger stadium and brings more fans, 5A school has smaller stadium and brings less fans???? Hmmmm............. Thats a real stadium and a real football town....
  16. I was able to watch Bellevue and Newport play I'm going to say the second game of the year (correct me if I'm wrong) and Newport looked like they had some very good players, but just didn't seem to play well as a team. Bellevue was able to beat them in that game, by wearing them down in the second half. However, it looks as if Newport is starting to play some good ball and my guess is starting to play well as a team. I'm not sure how Newport's pass defense is because Belleuve just ran the ball most of the game, so hopefully Dayton and Sherlock can exploit the secondary and get some big plays down field. Newport's line looked fairly big so I will say they have the advantage in that area. Should be a fun, hard hitting, and good game. Dayton exploits the secondary and Sherlock has a good game: Dayton: 28 Newport: 21 Good luck to both :thumb:
  17. I understand the academics arguement, but coming from one of the smaller schools it really does not have much substance. Every school in the state is required to teach the same material for college prep. True, some schools are better than others, but true success comes from parents and the students willingness to learn. Coming from Dayton, I can vouch that they prepared me for college as well as any other school in the state could have. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA in college and I am attending graduate school to recieve my PhD in chemistry. So the education arguement IMO is not there. Anyways for the game, I was surprised the score was so close at half, this could give Bellevue confidence going into their likely meeting in the second round, correct? I figured Beechwood would handle them easily, but maybe Bellevue can gain some confidence from the first half and keep going.
  18. Dayton's starters came out late in the 3rd quater when the score was 44-7. BB scored two unaswered touchdowns with their first stringers to make it 44-21. Dayton then sent their first string offense in for one play and scored on an 80-yard TD run. After that both teams JV came in a finished the game. The game was a good and clean game. BB head coach was flagged for unsportsman-like for something not really sure. The refs commentted after the game on the coach yelling at the cheerleaders and said they were well out of the way of the team and the coaches. When other teams come to Dayton to cheer they cheer on about 50-yard line where Dayton's cheerleaders used to. Because of the Scott game where the coaches yelled directly at the cheerleaders Dayton completely switched sides in the stands and the cheerleaders moved all the way down passed the 30-yard line where they basically cheer to a hillside. So lets give the cheerleaders a break, and good win for Dayton.:thumb::thumb::flame:
  19. They win based on what? Just curious to see the arguement from the other side....
  20. Interesting to see how the commentators commented on the situation repeatedly. I wasn't at the game, but it seems that Cov Cath should have taken the knee in that situation. But, as for the game I just see Cov Cath as having too much for the dawgs, but I think the game has the possibility to be a close one. Holmes: 14 Cov Cath: 28
  21. Good win for Lloyd, I expected this game to a little closer than this but I thought Lloyd would win by a small margin. Looks like Lloyd is coming back together as a team with their starting QB out. By the way, how is he doing? It was sad to see him carted off the field at Dayton.
  22. Dayton will name the score. BB still hasn't gotten over that hump. Good luck to both!:thumb:
