Any details for the Devils offense?

All the credit in the world to Dayton. They played a great game. Carroll imploded from the get-go. Shake it off Panthers and get ready for Holy Cross.

Suprise me, I thought Carroll would win. ANy details?

Justin Sherlock had a big game on senior night! he threw for 240 yards in the air with 3 touchdowns. he also rushed for 91 yards with 2 rushing touchdowns.

 

Great way to end the regular season Devils! Take it into next week aginst frankfort!

Michael Richardson also had 13 carries for 88 yards and 1 reception for 13 yards and 1 TD Bailey Brooks - Patton led the devils in receiving with 4 catches for 102 yards and a TD Sherlock also had 2 INT on the defensive side

Who are the playmakers for Carrol County?

Great job by the devils. That have definately picked up momentum for the playoffs.

Frankly, it wasn't even as close as the score indicates. Carrol added those 2 late scores against Dayton's young guys...

 

I don't want to insult anyone, but I simply don't understand exactly what Carroll was trying to do defensively. I mean, they played what looked like a 4-4, but it was more of a 4-5 because the "safety" was lining up 1 yard behind the backer, and taking a 3 step back pedal and then stepping back up most of the time. The middle of the field was wide open all night because there was no safety. The corners were in man coverage all night, except for one play, in which they looked like they tried to drop into zone, but someone forgot about the flats and Dayton took a check down for about 30 yards. Against a predominantly run team you may be able to challenge a team with that many in the box, but Dayton's strength is in the passing game, and if Carroll's coaches studied the films they should know that, and have made the defensive adjustments during the week. On top of everything, even with those 9 guys in the box, Dayton still ran fairly effectively, especially in the second half. Again, not trying to insult anyone, but it was truly bizarre. It really took me awhile of watching to actually believe that they weren't going to put ANYONE in the middle of the field... No safety... Ever...

Well anyone with any football IQ would know that if the safety is close to the linebackers like that, he is playing man and his man is the TE if the opposing team is in the shotgun divide like Dayton ran. Carroll DB's play man very well and have been pretty successful with it throughout the whole year. The defensive coaches do plenty of studying game film. Friday night was just not Carroll's night, but I hope the team uses this game as a wake up call and next week get a win against Holy Cross in the playoffs.

 

Carroll's QB did not play very well against Dayton Friday night. His decision making wasn't there and it looked as if he got flustered. I am sure that he will bounce back this coming week against Holy Cross. Dayton did a good job overall and came ready to play. Carroll needs to keep their heads up and get ready for playoff week. I was shocked by the score of this game. Expected alot tighter score.

Dayton played an excellent game and came in with a great game plan thanks to the coaches. Sherlock had his best game of the year and was on target all night. Richardson was throwing huge blocks all night and ran the ball very solidly. I haven't seen Carroll until Friday night so I can't say if they played bad or Dayton was just that much better. Either way, I hope Dayton can bring this momentum down to our state's capitol for this weeks game. Good luck to both teams next week!
