  1. I didn't think Sarver was as bad as they thought, and I didn't think Anoop was as good as they thought. I thought Anoop was boring.
  2. Greg Kraft had a 3 run shot over the left field fence for Dayton. Kenneth Adams had a game winning bases loaded infield single...
  3. I would say down one with 7 seconds left of OT in the state championship is a pretty pressurized situation, and Riley hit the shot...
  4. Yep......and hopefully most team have "an expectation" to be successful. And your 22 years gets you nowhere when it comes to knowing this team and their expectations unless you are the coach and/or AD.
  5. As I stated earlier........rumor! Much ado about nothing, and if they did come to Dayton, you can bet the ranch it wasn't for basketball reasons. No disrespect to their coach or team, but Dayton isn't exactly the place to transfer to if basketball is a factor in the residential search. And as for you, preachit, how much do you know about Dayton, so how about you get better informed before placing judgement. Coach Dilts and his staff have made great strides the past few years:irked:
  6. I think there may be some mid major program that will offer both Jeremiah and Ricardo hoping to get them both together. Though Rico may have the talent to be a high DI player I think that a situation where he could play with his brother for four more years could sway his thinking.
  7. Personally, I thought Tim Patterson did enough to earn a spot on the team, though I don't know which Central player he would've replaced.
  8. :dancingpa After reading this entire thread, I'm thinking it won't last much longer. To respond to the actual thread topic, I think that Elliot may be a little bit harder to defend with that zone that Central was using because I don't think that Elliot would've shot 3 for 17 in the first half. But I do think that Elliot may have had an advantage in strength and athleticism. With Patterson and Ridge W. in the game at the same time it would probably leave one of the Faulkners trying to contend with that strenght inside and I'm not seeing it. Personally, I'd have paid to see the game.
  9. Maybe not... Explain to me what part of futurecoach's post was not accurate?
  10. Oh and one more thing, I was impressed with the presentation of the game. The lineups and the "One Shining Moment" video was great. If that didn't pump you up you don't have a pulse.
  11. Did anyone see JJ's answer in the article from the enquirer today when they asked about him missing the layup? One of the most mature statements I've heard from a high school player dealing with an extremely adverse situation... "It was over and done with," he said. "After that, we had more game to play. I wish I would've made it, but I didn't. You don't make every shot. My teammates and coaches told me to keep my head up." I was extremely impressed with Central from the 2nd round on. I admit that I would've never seen them beating Eastern, but they did it with defense. Bibby had them changing defenses without missing a beat nearly every possession. Their matchup zone was well run and most importantly with a defense like that, his kids understood it. Those kids played their butt off and I really really thought that Bibby did a great job coaching to even get them there and then to put them in a position to win. I was worried for Holmes in the first half when they couldn't figure out that that high post was the weak point. 3 for 17 from three was pretty ugly. One shot that I think gets lost in the shuffle is Riley's 3 in OT to put Holmes up 2. That was clutch, ice in the veins. When he hit it my first thought was the section in the program called "Shots heard 'round the state." Dom Johnson gave some big offense. Even after Holmes went up 5 things still got a little hairy when they fouled and put the deficit back to 3. Inbounding the ball can be intersting. It wasn't over until Rico hit that last FT. Great celebration. Watching the various reactions right when the horn sounded was something to see. Those kids dogpiling, hugging anyone you can find, I think one of them just immediately fell to the ground and raised their jersey over their face. You could just tell how surreal that moment was.... You could see the "We really did it" all over them.... Overall, outstanding game to watch. I admit, I'm a ninth region guy and by about the middle of the fourth quarter I was a stand up and cheer Holmes fan. I would have been extremely regretful if I hadn't decided to attend the game.
  12. At the game the people at the table told me TeamIP.com. Haven't been there yet though so not sure. How was it going to confuse them? It doens't matter if he wore 13 or 42 or whatever. It be hard to lose a guy that big. And for the record, in the games I saw he wore 42 in black jerseys, 13 in white jerseys. And I assume his jersey had blood or was ripped, etc. It was funny watching Bibby try to cover him up when he tried to change his jersey on the bench, which isn't allowed.
  13. I believe that Rico Johnson scored Holmes first 9 points against Elliot when Holmes offense came out slow.... I think that is notable...
  14. Central's coach had some pretty animated performances all week long! He really got into it when he was explaining something... All joking aside, the guy did a great job with his team. He had those guys switching defenses nearly every possession and they never missed a beat.
  15. They also lose James Rice, didn't play a lot, but a senior nonetheless. And for all those saying they are "only" losing Riley, Housely, and Dom Johnson, you gotta realize that was a big part of their team. Yeah, Pittman and the brothers Johnson get all the pub, but Riley was deadly from three and looked like a floor leader, often pointing people into place, etc. Dom Johnson and Housely both were excellent defenders, which we all know is a big part of Holmes game; and if you look at their games the past few days, one of those two were always giving 8-12 points, and I think that is somewhat of a bonus for Holmes. From what I understand they will insert Mayfield and K.Rice, but they will need some younger guys to step up to make a decent bench. 2 major D1 players doesn't always equal state success. See University Heights 2008. Not saying that they won't have success, but just saying that just because they may have two big time players, it takes an entire team to win...
  16. Number 20 for Graves was a player. He brought them back into the game single handedly. If they could've kept Wilson off the boards, they'd have won...
  17. Did I just completely miss something here? Is this all speculation, or has Reitz resigned? Haven't seen where he has resigned.......just curious
  18. Don't forget the last part of his name... It's Kickingstallionsims:lol:
  19. How bout George Mason over a Connecticut team with 4 guys that were NBA draft picks to go to the final four...
  20. Ok so my first go of it I have: Louisville vs Memphis Florida State vs North Carolina Louisville vs North Carolina And from there I haven't decided yet:D Elite 8: Louisville Michigan State Connecticut Memphis Florida State Villanova North Carolina Syracuse Biggest "Cinderella" was I had Western to the sweet 16...
  21. I'm glad to see this... In the first bracket I filled out I had Florida State in the Final Four. Then I started to second guess myself. Then I decided that I would scrap it and do another one later....
  22. I know they lost to Duke today but I could really see Florida State making a deep run as a 5 seed.... Also, I find a team like Clemson interesting. They are never out of a game because of that press. Of course, that also means that they always have the ability to give one up too... I wonder if Oklahoma's guards are good enough/experienced enough/consistant enough to take them where Blake Griffin could...
