All In Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Anyone care to guess the region winners and representatives to the Sweet 16 2009-10? Would think Holmes,Shelby Valley and Mason County could all be back, who are the early favorites from other regions?

Clark Co. will be the team to beat in the 10th next year. Mason Co. loses Middleton and Downing this year.
LieutenantDan Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 The 8th will prolly come down to Anderson/Shelby again.
All In Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 West Jessamine could repeat in their region
Wireman Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Are we already discussing next season's Sweet Sixteen?

DragonFire Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I'd say the early 4th Region favorites will be: -Franklin-Simpson - Only lose three players off the regional finalists this year, two significant. Return best player Mickey Lewis who missed the last half of the year with a knee injury, as well as Terry Bryant who enjoyed a breakout tournament, averaging around 20 points per game in the regional. -Warren Central - Lose three seniors, two significant contributors in Pete Winn and Scooter Lightfoot, off of a 25-5 team that was upset in the first round of the 4th Region tournament. Will be senior laden with 6-7 seniors, and the junior class will include Jordan Shanklin and George Fant, another year more experienced. -Russellville - Lose a little bit more than the other two teams with four departing seniors, but you can't ignore what will be a talented junior class, three of which were starters. In that junior class is guard Damian Elam, who will be starting for his fourth year.

UKYBBALL Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Scott Co. should be heavy favorite in 11th. Holmes same in 9th. Clark same in 10th. Shelby Valley same in 15th. Christian County same in 3rd. When is PRP going to be back to the old PRP?
PurplePride92 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I think the 12th will be between West Jessamine, McCreary Central, and Wayne County. All 3 were in the final 4 of the 12th region tourney and all were led by young stars. It will be an exciting regional tourney once again.

DragonFire Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Would have loved to have seen WC there this season, just to see Shanklin and Fant. You and me both. Next year may be their best chance. They'll have to be transcendent their senior year to make it, because the supporting cast doesn't look to be nearly as good.

I'll be at 6 or 7 of the big events and want to get a look...

I would have thought Shanklin would still be with the Indiana Elite. I don't know that for certain. I have no idea whatsoever about Fant.
big royal daddy Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I agree with Holmes and Shelby Valley but not Mason Co. Clark Co. will be the team to beat in the 10th next year. Mason Co. loses Middleton and Downing this year. Clark will probably be the favorite, but don't count Mason out. Yes we lost Middleton and Downing, but we return Pawsat and Setty, Gilbert, Lang, and Barner. They will contend!
