Uphill Battle Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Greg Kraft had a 3 run shot over the left field fence for Dayton. Kenneth Adams had a game winning bases loaded infield single...
devils09 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Im very proud of this baseball season they only won 1 game last season and they won there first opening game in 15 years its a big improvement
Norm Peterson Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Congrats to Dayton, Coach Hamilton is a great baseball guy.
devils09 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Who pitched for Dayton? Schwierjohann pitched the whole game, 4 of Williamstowns runs were unearned and the other run was questionable due to a play from shortstop to home. They called obstruction of the plate but the baserunner was clearly out and the umps made some questionable calls with the DH by not letting him hit The stats for the game were Kraft 2-2 with a 3-run home run and a single, Jones was 3-3 with 2 singles and a 2 RBI double. Kenneth Adams went 2-3 with two singles and one being the game winning hit.
Mr.Jones Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Sounds like a good game. Good luck to both teams this season!
af veteran Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Good win. Those kids deserve it because they go out every game and play hard.Good luck the rest of the season!

remmac Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I'll bet Mom & Pop Kraft are proud as punch.......congrats to Gregory Kraft on the big knock.......great kid, smile for me !
bigben21 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Dayton had a great game execept the couple of un earned runs the game should'nt of even been that close , but great game to a bunch of hardworking kids.
kydawg Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I was at the game, terrible umping both ways. You had the play at home against Dayton and also had a horrific call against Williamstown in the last inning. Home half of the last inning, bases loaded, 1 out, 2 strikes on the batter. High and tight fastball, the batter goes to his backside to avoid being hit and swings as he falls. The ump calls a ball...... he says that the batter was making no attempt to hit the ball.....but he swung. The next pitch was a slow roller to 3rd to win the game for Dayton. As far as the DH goes Dayton was trying to use a 10th batter not a DH.
