How will this match up? Will Newport continue to improve? Will Dayton be able to stop Newport?

The Wildcats are improving every week and Dayton is coming off of their first win of the season. With that said I believe Newport will win in the 2-3 touchdown range.

If Dayton can get it together and develop a head of steam they could start to make things interesting, if not then 3 td margin..

This is senior night for the Cats, look for thim to come out and play hard all together!

The way Newport has been playing lately I wouldn't be surprised to see them win this one big. With that said though, I like Newport regardless.

Senior night at Newport - this is a good group of seniors and could have possibly been a contender for the #2 spot in the district. So, what happen, why not a contender? Who is to blame?

I have heard that Newport is installing a new defense, for the scrambling ability of Dayton's quarterback! Has Newport not seen a scrambling qb this season?

Newport 28-17.

Sherlock is one of the best quarterbacks in the area for scrambling. He is only a junior and has a good arm as well. Newport's QB (Collins) is a good running QB but lacks as a passing QB so IMO Dayton has the advantage in the QB position. I noticed that against HC Newport went to a 5-3 defense which is great to stop the run. IMO if they stay with the 5-3 they can force Sherlock out of the pocket - which I realize he scrambles very good - but force him to pass and hopefully Newport's DB's can handle the pass.

Im going Newport by 10.
