  1. Does Christian County have any other qb's if McDuffen isn't effective.
  2. Beth won't be teaching at Lloyd next year, so I don't know if she's still going to coach but I doubt she will.
  3. Lloyd is returning 4 starters on offense (QB, RB, RT, LT) and 4 on defense (DT, 2 LB, S). They will be young and but will be in very good shape. Talking to players they say this is the most strenuous pre-season they've ever had (as far as conditioning and lifting).
  4. Yes Creech played center last year. And Drifmeyer played it his sophomore year. I look for Ben Blankenship or Jeremy Ray to play the position. It's a huge pivotol position for the team.
  5. No one questioned their talent. They're good ball players, but they're just too young and inexperienced.
  6. He's just not ready yet, he's a freshmen. Not to take anything away from him, because what I've heard he's a stud at the JV level. Pitching next year may be limited, I'd say he could compete for the everyday third basemen spot. Varsity is a whole different brand of baseball. Next year he might see some time in a relief role. Next year the Jugg's rotation will look like this: 1. McGuire 2. Pittman 3. Warren 4. Jouett 5. Brown. Relievers: Banta, Willett, Asher, Hillard.
  7. I personally think passing leagues mean nothing for the real season. Lloyd won 3/4's of all their 7 on 7's played last year, and only went 6-6 in the regular season. They beat Beechwood and NewCath easily and got blew out in the actual game during the season. Lloyd also beat DuPont Manual who won the entire UK passing tourny. And Lloyd still only had a sub-par year. Just because a team is really good at 7 on 7's does not mean they will have a good team. But I do think 7 on 7's are a lot of fun to watch and they are good for extra reps that you can't get everyday at practice.
  8. Drifmeyer is a guard or tackle, not a center. And John Schneider isn't playing this year. I look for either Sugar or Whitey to play Center.
  9. I'm not just saying for POY, I'm saying other awards as well. Hunter Jones has a great glove, and so does Luke Maile. Luckily for them, they also hit extremely well. I think if Maile and Jones were not known for hitting, they'd be known for their defense. My point is so much emphasis is put on hitting. What do you think?
  10. MPH? Let's not get crazy now. If he was throwing that hard he'd be pitching varsity. Not one pitcher at Lloyd, varsity or JV, has hit 80 all year. The closest one would be Dylan McGuire and he only throws high 70's. But Brady is a big strong kid, and has pitched great for the JV squad. He'll most likely be brought up at the end of the year, and will see some time on the varsity squad next year.
  11. I honestly think some players who are studs defensively should have a legit chance as well. Hitting is a very important part of the game, but there are so many players who pride themselves on defense because maybe they have a weaker bat than some of their other teammates. No errors to some players is the same as going 3-4. It's a shame that only offensive stats are looked at when awards are given out at the end of the season.
  12. No doubt. Still a little choppy, but what can you expect from a brand new field? I'd say in less than 5 years it will be one of the best fields in the area. As far as CovCath's field goes, it looks great. Beechwood's new field is also very nice...
  13. The Lloyd O-line will be inexperienced this year, with only two returning starters. Everyone is working hard in the weight room. But the main question is who will play center? It's a question that even players are wondering about. We'll just have to see.
  14. David Carroll 6'5 280 lbs. Lloyd. needs to get stronger and faster if he wants to play college football but he will be attending a few camps this summer. Has good size and character.
  15. Seydrick Walker (Lloyd) - Kentucky Wesleyan Michael O'Brien (Lloyd)- Kentucky Wesleyan
  16. 1. Miles Simpson 2. Charles Quainoo 3. Austin Collinsworth 4. Andy Roenker 5. Seth Chappie 6. Travis Elliot 7. Corey Klei 8. Auston Pugh 9. Kiefer Eubanks 10. Chris Kelly
  17. It just seemed like Lloyd used all their energy in the first game, Prom was last night and the lack of sleep caught up with them. In the first game they were crisp and hit well. The second game everyone came out flat. Not to make excuses because Bellevue hit the ball great and took full advantage on Lloyd mistakes. Bellevue was also very crisp in the field. I'm just glad Lloyd was able to beat crosstown rival and district opponent Dixie in the first game! :dancingpa :ylsuper:
  18. Dylan McGuire is a tough pitcher. He's not the type to blow it past anyone, but he has a variety of pitches which keep the batter guessing. He's had great outtings against St. Henry (2 hitter), and in 5 innings yesterday against NCC. He's only a junior, and really wants to play college ball. If he gets a little stronger and his mind right, there's no reason why he can't be one of the best pitchers in Northern Kentucky next year. We'll see.
