Good hard hittin game!

Senior night at the Cats Den - Newport came in with their heads held high and finished with a victory. As I expected - Dayton played a hard hitting game and never laid down. Newport secondary seemed to have a few problems tonight - Dayton WO's made some really impressive catches. Overall, the score really doesn't reflect to how hard fought this game was.

Good hard hitting game by both. Congrats to the Newport seniors for winning on their senior night. Dayton fumbled two recieving punts, and had I think two fumbles inside of their own 30 which does not help. Good game though. Who does Newport play next week and the first round of the playoffs?

Newport has a bye next week and I believe they will be playing Louisville DeSales in the first round.

From looking at Dayton's roster they apeared to be a young team which should make for a good season next year.

They are a very young team. But a team that if it stays together, could turn some heads in the future.

I was only there for the second quarter but from what I saw it could have been worse if Newport would have taken advantage of all the Dayton turnovers. They must have had 2 or 3 just while I was watching.

 

I do like Dayton's quarterback. He moves pretty good and makes some plays.

I agree it could have been worse for Dayton if Newport would have taken advantage of the turnovers. However they didn't and that is something that they (Newport) needs to be more consistant of doing - take advantage of turnovers.

Newport will need to play a lot better if they are goin to move on in the playoff. Newport has played good as of late and has taken advantage of the other teams mistakes, they let some of them slip away in this game.

It was a very hard hittin game. Dayton has a young team, I look for them to make some noise in the future. Good luck to Dayton the rest of the year!
