With all this talk about coaches it got me thinking who the up and coming coaches in NKY are. I would like to restrict this to JV Coaches, Freshmen Coaches, or Varsity assistant coaches. Please don't list assistant coaches that have been at the same school for years because they don't qualify as up and coming.

Ross Hart the freshman coach at Beechwood will be a good one, would be nice if he had a little more to work with during his rookie year!

I think Buddy Pittman (JV coach at Cov. Cath.) is one of the young up and coming coaches in NKY. He knows the game, interacts well with his players and is a real decent person.:thumb:

Is he the AAU Coach that used to coach at Boone Co.? If he is, he belongs with Listerman.

I think his buddy at Conner, Garnett, is a better coach. I didn't list him because he has been around a while. I could see Garnett getting the Cooper job.

What about Rodney Snapp at Dixie? I think he is the Varsity assistant.

Brian Casey does a great job at St. Henry, I just don't know if he's going to be interested in ever being a Head Coach.

 

I'm a huge fan of Brad Carr and Trent Steiner. These two are great friends and great young coaches.

 

I also really like what Garnett does at Conner.

 

NCC probably has the youngest head coach in the state with Brannen and he has some great help at NCC so he will be a good coach for a long time.

 

Most of these other position have been taken for a long time.

Yes he coached at Boone Co. He was a winner at Boone and he's winning at Cov. Cath. Last time I looked, his Cov Cath JV team was undefeated.

He has one year of varsity experience with ST.Pat's where a lot of the players that are doing well now got their first highscool expereince with him. He played college b-ball and relates very well with today's athletes. I would think he will be at the top of the list for varsity coach at Cooper High. He would give that school a great start to their program.

Which one are you referring to? I believe they have a couple good assistants, and seem to be on the right track, but from what I hear, they may be lacking in the KHSAA 64 college hour rule, and may never be able to advance to a Varsity position. Anyone know about that issue with KHSAA?
