Whatever happened to Ryan Schrand who use to coach at CCH. I though he seemed to be a very good JV coach for the Colonels program.

Whatever happened to Ryan Schrand who use to coach at CCH. I though he seemed to be a very good JV coach for the Colonels program.

 

I thought I saw him coaching the St. Joseph's Crescent Spring 7th grade team or assisting.

I know he coaches the NKY Rockets 10u AAU team. His son plays on the team and is the best shooter in that age group I have seen all year...

Correct he is helping out at St Joe's. They have a very nice team and are one of the better teams in the 7th grade in NKY. Grooming more and more future Colonels.

Here are a couple coaches to think about. The Freshmen coaches at Boone and Ryle have their boys playing tough basketball. They have good talent but are getting more out of that talent than some expected. Ryle has had an injury to one of their starters but still keep playing good basketball.

:confused: I would have thought we would have seen him as a Head Coach at some school by now. Hopefully some school might give him some consideration for their job if a position becomes available. As I said he seemed to be a good coach and I know his players enjoyed playing for him as my nephew played for him and always spoke highly of him.

IMO this list has to start with Tim Sullivan at Holmes High School. He has one year of varsity experience with ST.Pat's where a lot of the players that are doing well now got their first highscool expereince with him. He played college b-ball and relates very well with today's athletes. I would think he will be at the top of the list for varsity coach at Cooper High. He would give that school a great start to their program.

 

 

You can also add a couple years experience as an assistant at Mason County. Tim actually took a couple recruiting visits to Xavier with Darius Miller during his tenure there and is still close to him today. However, he loves his alma mater Holmes and may wait to become the head coach of the Bulldogs... Whenever that job may come open... Which I don't think will be anytime in the near future. Henley has done an outstanding job and from all accounts, he isn't looking to leave.

 

Any school would be very lucky to have Tim Sullivan as their head coach. I always knew there was something in him that would make him a great coach someday. That someday is coming soon.

What about Rodney Snapp at Dixie? I think he is the Varsity assistant.

 

Rod Snapp forgot more about basketball than Chevy has ever known. He is waiting on the right job. If Chevy doesn't stop running an open post office, he may have the Dixie job pretty soon.

Buddy Pittman knows the game would make a great varsity coach, also the asst coach at Dayton, I do not know his name, he would make a very good varsity coach.

 

Dayton has 2 assistant coaches... Coach Chuck Smith, like Coach Dilts, is an original "Dayton guy" and was has been in the system going back to his high school years. He was around in the 80's and early 90's with Steidel as a varsity assistant, left for quite a few years, and recently Coach Dilts brought him back as the JV coach. He does a lot of the X's and O's.

 

Coach Darrell Patton "knows everybody."He served as Dayton's middle school coach for a few years before Coach Dilts promoted him to "varsity assitant" when he got the job. I believe his most recent job prior to coming to Dayton was in "The Holy Trinity School" early years. He works really well with the players. The man seeminly has connection or ties to people from every school across nothern Kentucky.

 

Either of these guys can be seen on any given night scattered throughout NKY schools scouting and are always on the bench for the JV and Varsity games. They have both greatly contributed to the upswing Dayton's program has been/is making for the past few years. Either one of these guys who you might be talking about? Just curious, it's good to see all the good things being said about the program....

Tim Sullivan is a class act and will get another shot at the varsity level.

I will be shocked if he's not the JV coach at a 9th region school in the next 2 years. I predict that it will be next year if there are any kind of coaching changes after this year in the 9th.

Coach Chuck Smith is the coach that I think would make a good varisty coach, he is doing a very good job for Coach Dilts, the Dayton program has shown a great deal of improvement the last few years with this coaching staff. Keep up the good work.

These coaches have done an excellent job with this years team because of the extreme youth on the team. They start two seniors with the rest being 3 sophomores. They also only have one or two juniors on the team so this coaching staff has done a great job with the young talent on the team. Keep it up!

Tim Sullivan is not even a name in Boone County and no he is not going to be on top of the list.

 

Maybe that's why Kenton County schools have been winning the last few regional titles. Boone County might want to share in that winning feeling.
