Ashland vs. Lewis County (16th Region Championship) Predictions/Updates

Ashland (32-0) has been the 16th Region front-runner all season. This is their chance to finally put a bow on it. By contrast, Lewis County (18-15) wasn't expected to be here by anyone outside of Vanceburg, but the Lions have to believe they have a puncher's chance. These teams met in the season opener for both on December 3rd, with Ashland pounding Lewis 78-46.

Will the Tomcats roll again, or can the Lions create a little March madness in Morehead?

Tipoff is scheduled for tomorrow at 7:00pm at Ellis T. Johnson Arena, on the campus of Morehead State University.

I feel like Ashland wins but I'm bias hah. Lewis is playing much better ball than when these two met in the first game of the season, so indo feel like it will be much closer. I'm kinda leaning toward a 10-12 point Ashland win.

Had Boyd advanced I'd consider the point spread nil. Ashland is better than Boyd imo, but it's not easy to beat a rival four times in one season, particularly when they have a solid team themselves.

I was gonna give updates but when Ashland led by 26 early on I decided this one is all but over.

The first quarter was a massacre to the tune of 23-2 in Ashland's favor. Lewis got it together in the second frame, but it's still all Ashland, all night.

One shy of the championship game record. I'll say they end up somewhere in the 16-17 range.

I would say Villars may score 40 but he will get some rest before that happens.

This will be a running clock early in the 3rd quarter of a regional championship game. The 16th is pretty weak but Ashland is very good this year as well it will be interesting to see how they fair in the sweet 16. I wish them the very best.
