I have an interview Friday Morning...

Just got back home, I think it went well. I stumbled on one question, the first one. I think I did well on the rest. There were only 6 questions and after that they let me have the floor to say whatever I wanted to say.

I'm sure I'll find out soon if I did well or not. I hope so anyways. If I passed, the psychological evaluation is either Sunday or Monday, I believe. I hope I did good. I tried to do the things people here said; make eye contact, speak clearly, dress nice etc.

Thanks again for the advice.

I wish I noticed this thread sooner. One of my HS buddies is a game warden, and I could have put you in touch with him for some tips. If you get the job, let me know and I'll get you two together.

Good luck! :thumb:

Where does he work?

If you could talk to him and ask him if it is okay if I contact him that would be great. I would really appreciate it.

Never hurts to send a followup email or letter thanking the interviewer (or whomever the apprpriate person would be) for the opporntunity the be considered for the job and meeting them. Don't be long-winded and don't needlessly suck up. Just a nice, short note expressing your appreciation and re-affirming your sincere interest in the job.

I have one on Monday for a different position where I work. It's with a committee of 8 people. I HATE those kind of interviews, but I have done them before. It just can be nerve racking when several people are firing off questions. I am much better in a one-on-one interview.

Hi, and I'm Mr. Johnson, and your name is?:lol::lol:

J/K HB20. I hope you get the job.

I was pretty nervous, but I did better than I thought I would.

Either way, like stick1 said, even if I don't get the job I at least get the experience. I know what it is like now. I prepared for this interview, however they asked me none of the questions I thought they would ask.

You and me both. Probably been close to 10 years, but we still keep up via online.

He operates out of the Bowling Green area. I wouldn't think it would be a problem. I'll try and get up with him this weekend. Shoot me a PM with your contact information.

I've been through those. One thing I found out after working with one of the guys that interviewed me is that they are set up sometimes to have good cop, bad cop and somebody neutral. Never been through an 8 person deal but have done a good bit of 3 person one's.

What kind of job is it?

HB hope things work out for you man! You gave it your best and are more experienced than you were going in man.

It's for a different position in the college where I work. I've been through them here before, so I know what to expect. Essentially the committee interviews, then each goes back and chooses the person they like the best. Then the President of the college reviews who each member of the committee recommends and makes the final call.

I have two things going for me:

#1 I already work here. They usually give preference to existing employees.

#2 I came from that department to where I am now. So even though I left a job there lower on the totem pole than the one I am being interviewed for I already know what the job entails, the policies, procedures, etc. I just plan on focusing on that in the interview. If they hire me (and I think I have a good chance- I have a good relationship with the guy who would be my boss and have worked for him before) they won't have to spend a lot of time training me like they would someone completely new.

Anyway it's at 1. Wish me luck! :thumb:
