PepRock01
Its funny how one sided this has become. what about the other organizations like the KKK and the Arian Nation? They have youth groups to. isnt anyone going to post against them Groups like the KKK and Aryan Nation are disgusting organizations. That said, in looking at these videos and reading the comments of the thread I find there are certain things that could be said for them. While I do not think of this to the extreme that some individuals are taking it, I don't find them to be quite as harmless as other do. The one that bothers me the most is not so much the second one. The idea of a group of kids that look to be no more than a step team who are inspired by an individual does not bother me. While RTS has mentioned that this is indeed a great country and worthy of insipiration, not everyone is inspired in that manner. Some people require a living example of what they have been told they can do their whole lives, to some Barack Obama represents that. I certainly don't look at him that way, but I can see where some within the African-American community may look at him as such. The first one actually bothers me more. Not just because the tones was idealistic drivel, but because people actively try to indoctrinate their children in that manner with one political ideology ot the other. I am not place sole blame at the left's feet on this one though as similar things are done at a folk level by people on the extreme right as well. I am really most annoyed at asking children to become de-facto spokesmen for things they can't possibly understand yet. More or less using them for political purposes, which disgusts me as well. The left and right irritate me to no end.

Instead of hoping that you will be able to use the "I told you so" defense, why not just hope that you are wrong and that Obama ends up doing good things for our country? I know this is the second South Park reference I've made in the PR forum this week - I've been on a kick lately. But still, trying to get children to be a mouthpiece for something they have little to no reason to speak for is just asinine.

The only thing I differ just slightly on is the looking up to Obama thing, but what you say makes sense.

I will add that IMO, politicians and the political world aren't the only ones guilty of this. But that's another thread for another day.
