ladiesbballcoach Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Hopefully, the title met all PC needs. Which UK player came in under the radar but left a UK legend? I think of Chuck Hayes and Erik Daniels immediately. Erik Daniels probably the most for me. And I would also say Kenny Walker. Not sure he was expected to be as dominant of a player as he ended up being.
bugatti Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Daniels was a sought after recruit. I think his goofy playing style make people believe he was not that good coming into college. Some more recent ones... Anthony Epps, Nazr Mohammed
dinoradja Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Anthony Epps had a nice career at UK. Not sure anyone would have thought that he would be such a big part of that 1996 championship team.
bugatti Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 How about Chris Lofton??? Sorry, I had to do it
ladiesbballcoach Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 Anthony Epps had a nice career at UK. Not sure anyone would have thought that he would be such a big part of that 1996 championship team. Epps is definitely a good answer. The Unforgettables overachieved also. Go with Pitino's view of Farmer, Pelphry and Feldhaus and they could hardly chew gum and dribble a basketball at the same time.
Son of Bear Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Cameron Mills. A walk-on from Dunbar who ended up going to 3 championship games and had a big part on the team in 97 and 98.
Covercorner Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Epps or Mills- both started as walk-ons that were integral parts of two championship and a runner up squads.
PurpleandGold04 Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Ravi Moss Definately agree with you there
BucksFan Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 What about Scott Padgett? He wasn't considered a great college prospect, but excelled under Pitino
ladiesbballcoach Posted April 11, 2007 Author Posted April 11, 2007 What about Scott Padgett? He wasn't considered a great college prospect, but excelled under Pitino I believe his best year was under Smith. He actually flunked out a year and worked in landscaping under Pitino.
