ladiesbballcoach
Hopefully, the title met all PC needs. Which UK player came in under the radar but left a UK legend? I think of Chuck Hayes and Erik Daniels immediately. Erik Daniels probably the most for me. And I would also say Kenny Walker. Not sure he was expected to be as dominant of a player as he ended up being.
UKPat02
Erik Daniels for sure. :thumb:

bugatti
Daniels was a sought after recruit. I think his goofy playing style make people believe he was not that good coming into college. Some more recent ones... Anthony Epps, Nazr Mohammed
dinoradja
Anthony Epps had a nice career at UK. Not sure anyone would have thought that he would be such a big part of that 1996 championship team.
bugatti
How about Chris Lofton??? Sorry, I had to do it

Not sure anyone would have thought that he would be such a big part of that 1996 championship team. Epps is definitely a good answer. The Unforgettables overachieved also. Go with Pitino's view of Farmer, Pelphry and Feldhaus and they could hardly chew gum and dribble a basketball at the same time.
Son of Bear
Cameron Mills. A walk-on from Dunbar who ended up going to 3 championship games and had a big part on the team in 97 and 98.
Covercorner
Epps or Mills- both started as walk-ons that were integral parts of two championship and a runner up squads.

BucksFan
What about Scott Padgett? He wasn't considered a great college prospect, but excelled under Pitino
ladiesbballcoach
What about Scott Padgett? He wasn't considered a great college prospect, but excelled under Pitino I believe his best year was under Smith. He actually flunked out a year and worked in landscaping under Pitino.
