What did Cameron Mills do at UK. Everyone keeps naming him, but he had a couple of big threes during the '98 tournament, but that's the extent of his impact. He avg. 4.3 pts for his career.

Anthony Epps was a good choice ... it seemed like Pitino never wanted to commit to him as the point guard, so he kept trying Tony Delk there. Installing Epps as the point took the 1996 team to another level.

 

One other hugely underappreciated player ... Ed Davender.

I was thinking about Easy Ed as I read this thread. He is one of the most underappreciated players of all-time at UK, he is the guy that set Chapman up and kept him under control.

Mark Pope actually was expected to be a major player. If I am not wrong he was the Pac 10 Freshman of the year before he came to UK.

He played super sub role in 97 and 98. I never thought he would ever leave the bench. He hung 31 on Florida in 98.
