  1. It was a good game. Congrats to the Cats. Ferris was also at LC as an assistant any, many moons ago.
  2. As I said before, I do not know what is going on but the bad record or kids threatening to quit do not seem to hold water IMO. Something happened that warranted a dismissal now instead of later. We probably will never know exactlly what happened to cause this but it had to be something.
  3. IF it was just bad football or a desire for a change they would have let him finish the season IMO.
  4. Something has happened. Something more than bad football or a losing record for this to happen. I have no idea what, but something has to be going on. I never was sold on this hire and have not liked some of the things I saw on the field, but it always felt like a bad fit to me. It is what it is now and it is time to move on. Like I said, I have no clue as to what transpired but something was bad enough for the administration and Super to pull the trigger.
  5. The last two weeks have been telling on the cats.
  6. This whole season will be a mystery
  7. It did. But nothing like this. The schedule had to be watered down to produce anything. 2006 thru the present has been bad but nothing like the 70s. We are getting closer to that though. I don't know what the answer is but whatever is going on is not working.
  8. LC scored a goose egg against Campbellsville and made a winless team look unstoppable. I cannot see the Cats putting up 19 unless the Jackets JV hits the field early.
  9. A few. IDK what has happened with the players. Something is going on there. The program looks like it is out of control from the top down. I have been to a few games that just seem like no one wants to play. They seem like they have little to no clue on defense and a very erratic offense. I have some serious questions about the coaching of this group. Figure it out if you can. Like I said, LC is as bad as I have ever seen them and I have seen them since the early 70's. If something does not change, and change soon, this will be a program on life support.
  10. And the streak will continue. LC will not beat Burg this year, next year or in the near future. LC is almost as bad now as they were in the late sixties and early seventies. This game's final score depends soley on Jerry Herren's level of compassion. Fortunate scheduling has LC with the record they have now. I am calling Whatever The Jackets want to 12. Les, I believe that you once picked this game to decide the district......Are you getting better? You had to have a bad fever when you wrote that.
  11. Never know with HS football. We won a Region Ttitle with a team that we figured may win 3 games. 21 players on the roster. We had11 seniors. Commitment, football IQ and MATURITY have to be in place top to bottom to get it done though.
  12. Well, the softer scheduling should help. The athletes that used to be there just do not seem to be there anymore. Lost some size and a lot of experience from 2012. I cannot see much help from the MS moving up. Just an outsider looking in, but this would seem to be a step back year to develop some kids for the future. I still don't know if the coaching staff is a good fit over there or not. Time will tell. This team can win or lose games this season with the likes of Pineville, Jellico TN and Jackson County. Berea will be looking to get even. Williamsburg and Campbellsville are inkable losses. LC finally managed to run away from the long standing series with Whitley County. This was one of the longest running continuous series in the state. LC had played Whitley every season since the consolidation. If Middlesboro and Harlan are still on the schedule these could be problematic matchups for LC. The kids will play hard as the kids at LC always have, but I cannot see this being a breakout season.
  13. No one has started one for 2013, but without another change in leadership look for a repeat, or worse, of 2012.
  14. Hard end to a bad year. Congrats to the Dragons.
  15. I believe your prediction is a little conservative. Lynn Camp just is not Lynn Camp anymore. This will be an ugly game.
  16. Normally I look forward to this game, but I would rather have a root canal by a blind dentist this year. I have no idea what the score will be, but I cannot see this as a competitive game.....
  17. Burg keeps rolling. Trainwreck that is currently LC rolls into town next week.
  18. This is a DEFINITE "wait and see" situation. Most will have to wait and see how the new coach and players mesh and what type of game they play. I have been told they plan on airing it out now.
  19. That sounds about par for the administrators course if it is true. It is their playground over here, and you play by thir rules or they take their ball and go home. That goes for students, parents, teachers, whoever may need to see changes... As far as what is going on over here not working, it is because it is apparent there is a lack of effort by the whole system that is in place....
  20. I am starting to hear about a last minute favorite now. Duncam may not be a lock.
  21. If anything was done to the field it was Dave, family or friends. Fix, try to repair, paint or mow.
  22. No stipend for Dave. In fact, he was almost ordered to skip football camp with the kids last year to fix the field. Know this to be 100% fact. Label away.
  23. Mowing of the field here was done mostly by David and his family. What are these "stadium repairs" you speak of? How do you receive these?
  24. Cross your fingers, but expect the worst. OK, so the kids do all the work themselves. What exactly, besides repair, is the maintenance/ groundkeepers responsibility? Can the kids handle fertilizer? A coach just got fired for providing kids with an explosive chemical. The nitrates in fertilizer are 100% more dangerous than dry ice.... Let's just say that the kids do it all themselves. Good deal. Now explain how the LC football field never drains, why grass won't grow, and why NO MATTER HOW MANY CALLS ARE MADE that the football field still never gets fixed. Kids cannot do that unless they are expert botanists/civil engineers. If we do gripe enough, the county comes down and throws seed down with no arreation, no straw, NOTHING but the seed. Praise the county all you want, but you won't get much TLC for them down here. The back balcony enterance of the school has sank almost a foot and has been like that for at least 3 years. The field house is still a wreck. We never got the rubberized track we were promsed. Many of the chairs and tables at the elementary school are broken and the chairs have sharp edges (enough to cut a kid). The calls have been made repeatedly about these situations. Nothing is ever done. A list from down here on structural/neglect problems could be pages long.
