  1. 42 to 0 Fairview. I was afraid of this......
  2. That is what I am trying to avoid and find out if anyone knows what is actually going on. I am not even accusing or saying what I have heard. I would not even bring it up if it was not for who I heard the initial report from. Just a want to know/kinda need to know type thing....
  3. That is what I am thinking, too. Just want to be able to put all this talk to rest down here. It has been everything from the mildly interesting to the absurd in the stories going around.......
  4. I have a question. Rumors are running wild down here in SE KY about Fairview and some sort of infraction that would cost them players against us in the playoffs or even cost them victories on the season. I have heard nothing on the news about any of this but the story persists down here. Someone please help me out and clarify or squash this rumor. Thanks.
  5. We were not the worst team in a long time. We were not as good as last year, but we did do some good things this year. I can help to alleviate some of the arguing on here. 2009 was never brought up other than the reference to our 2009 group. Neither team was as good as they were last year. Know something else? it is 2010, not last year. That is how it works. We are much younger and will improve and MCC is in some transition and will improve. MCC made the plays to win and looked good at times. LC looked good at times but had enough mistakes to a young team. Side note: I still do not understand the facemask on LC's Rose, the ball carrier on one of our last series.....)
  6. Congrats to the Raiders! Well deserved win! Now, on to Lynn Camp: I do want to take the time to reply to some of what I have seen on here. As far as playing the youngsters, we have several kids out from knee injuries (received DURING the district games) one kid with an appendix that required season ending surgery and the injury to the centers knee during the game friday. We have 7 seniors. We have ZERO juniors. We have 9 sophmores and 7 freshmen. David's statements are dead on and with just one or two injuries we were playing as a young (and inexperienced) JV team. Someone explain to me how it can be looked at otherwise. As far as scheduling, we get the teams that will play us. Let's look at LC's schedule. Somerset, a team that was inked into the Pioneer Bowl for 2 years a couple of seasons ago. Who knew they were going to have the two year run that they are in the middle of, especially after Cobb left. LCA is a team that we could face in the playoffs, may as well see where we stack up early. Whitley is a team we have played since they consolidated in the 60's (every year since, in fact.). Harlan, Pineville, Campbellsville, Clinton Co., Berea, Williamsburg and MCC. The schedule is tough early and tests the kids, but tapers off. We had zero bad injuries until district. Fact is this year, we lost a ton of experience and were going to struggle regardless. We are not as good as last year and had some injuries late that reduced our effectiveness late in the year. Young, inexperienced and playing out of position hurt us way more than tough scheduling. Do not take away from MCC's win by trying to over analyze a team you may not know a whole lot about, guys. We all play what is in front of us on a given friday. MCC took care of business (and showed a lot of resoucefulness when it was looking bad for them) and got a well deserved win. Enjoy it and let the kids enjoy it.
  7. Reece was a monster. Even bigger today..... Curious as to if the tackles can't be kept for record that this became a story. A credited tackle is a tackle in the stat, but I guess if someone really wanted to, they could credit a kid with a ton of tackles, set the record and that would be that until someone else did the same. Soon a kid would have 50 tackles in a game and around 500 for the year. Too much controversy would ensue for them to keep a record like that, I guess I see the point.
  8. This would have been a game to see! It has to be in the top 10 defensive games by an individual in KHSAA history. Did anyone turn the stats in so the kid could get recognized on the official records? I could not find anything on individual tackles in a game....
  9. I thought the teams played close physically on D. Burg broke for some big plays but there were some good hits on both sides. Payne's play on the tipped ball and Rose's option pitch on offense for LC were two of the better plays in the game. Burg's big plays (mostly by JP) were the backbreakers.....
  10. I had forgot about the tackle. I think he sold me some popcorn at halftime and valet parked my car pre-game. He seemed to do everything friday....
  11. Hopefully our Sophmores and Frosh grow physically and their football IQ jumps a few more points. We will have a TON of experience returning and have some good youngsters coming up, too.
  12. Also, IMO, Payne was the deciding factor in this game. Both defenses played tough, but Payne was the difference in the game and why Burg wins. Best player on the field friday night. Hamblin hurt us some, but Payne got us. Thought both teams played a very physical game.
  13. Congrats to the Jackets. LC is still struggling to move the ball and Burg took advantage of the Cats mental mistakes. I would like to add a couple of things. Thank you to the Jacket fans that chanted "Blow That Horn" during the latter part of the game. That was hilarious. That was quick witted and even made some of us on the LC sidelines laugh. Kuddos! I have no connections to that massive air horn that a group of the LC fans insist on lugging to the games, but would like to apologize on behalf of those LC fans that do understand the writtten rules and unwritten standard for good sportsmanship. This thing is like a fog horn and they would blow it throughout entire plays. (It has not been that long ago that we were upset over Dayton's band playing incessantly during our possessions.) I knew that it would become a situation sooner or later and it finally happened. Well, anyway, congrats. Maybe we can get everything back on track and make a run against Y'all next year!
  14. Good luck to both teams (with just a little more to the Cats!)
  15. I know what you are implying ff. PM me and I will give you the details on what I know about the injuries. No sandbagging with the two kids. LC has about 27 kids out right now, not counting the two injured kids. Have to agree with the above. LC has to show they are more physical than what I have seen this year before I will say they can win the battle of the trenches against WHS friday. Mitchell can get the best out of his kids, but sometimes the best you can get is only part of what a player can be. This group has a weird mindset sometimes. Mental toughness needs to be there for 4 qtrs.....
  16. Not good. Couple of key players up in the air. Black (Starting QB) hurt his knee in the opening offensive series against Clinton Co. Mills, DE/K out right now due to some malady. Waiting on word on these two. A few more banged up, but nothing at the level of the above 2 players.
  17. This is always a weird game where about anything can happen. Many times the team that should crush the other goes home a loser. I'll post more on this later, but right now LC is a banged up squad. Let me find out who has the band-aids and where they are before I try to make a prediction.
