Highlands won so it may be forgotten, but the play calling after the Gabe Williams punt return was awful.

1st time I’ve watched Highlands intently and agree with everything that has been said about the O-coordinator.

And can someone in the Fort talk to the new student broadcaster and let him know he doesn’t have to scream 1st, 3rd and 4th down every time they come up.  I began hoping every down was 2nd down.

That announcer was very annoying so I muted him and turned on the CCH boys calling the game on Mixlr on the Colonel Athletic Network.

I'm happy to give my pointers out, and he can do with them what he'd like.  I still think, the main problem is the fact that year after year it's always been PA on the broadcast. The broadcast sh

That was an outstanding high school football game. Kudos to both teams for being well prepared and playing with 100% effort on each snap. Congrats to the Birds on pulling out the win. That was a lot m

Let the discussion begin!!

One of the Best games ever!!

That was special. Congrats Bluebirds; well played all!

Great game setup and updates FN, thanks.

How do you not cover Lorenzen on a seam route in that situation?  CovCath lost all leverage in 4A by allowing a team to go length of field with 41 seconds.
Personal foul penalty and not covering the player who everyone knew they were going to.  Implosion!

Very good game but the CCH defense was very perplexing to me the last :50 seconds. Why they were rushing 4 down linemen and corners not playing outside leverage was a head scratcher. The pass play that drew the personal foul was completed on the outside, then they come right back and throw to the outside on the other side of the field. Just like that they are in striking distance with :22 left and all 3 TOs.

On the final play with :07 left in the game, CCH should have taken a TO to set the defense. Lorenzen should have been jammed at the LOS and then ran with down the field. This would have freed the safety up with help over the top.

Just my opinion, but I’m not making it easy for the other team’s best player to catch that pass.

Hats off to the Birds on “Finding A Way” to get it done. Best team in NKY and it’s not even close.

That final pass was a beautiful shot!

Congratulations Bluebirds!  What a great game!  Thanks for the updates Frank!

Back and forth!  I'm sure CovCath would love that last play over again.

Great Rivalry!  Could they meet again?

I was impressed with both teams and it is a shame one of them had to lose.

Congrats Bluebirds, you won a classic!

I doubt many teams want to see CovCath in the playoffs.

Just caught the final possession here on BGP. What a game!

Looks like Covington Catholic will be traveling to Johnson Central in Round 2 of the playoffs.

Wow!  What a game. Those boys  will be talking about that game forever. I haven’t been to a game in a while at highlands. Would love to know how the highlands fans feel about the “First Down” and opponent “3rd down” calls by the PA. Yikes.   ?. CCH fans took objection to him in the microphone up to the ball hike most of the night. I personally found it annoying but I’m just a grumpy old man.

There is a lot of great players in NKy this year, many on Covcath, but only one Tayden Lorenzen. Rio did a great job of getting it in there, but that was one heck of a catch by an incredible athlete for sure ! No shame in him beating you to win a classic game in a long line of classics between these two teams!

I could not listen. I turned the volume off and just watched the video.

Constructive feedback for the broadcast team:

1. Screaming is not broadcasting and detracts from the broadcast. Find that happy median of excitement when setting up plays before the snap. The screaming is ok when the game winning TD catch happens but not on every play.

2. On the video, close ups are good when there isn't action happening and wide shots are better when the action starts. There were big plays missed in the video because the camera was zoomed too close to the action.

3. Thanks for your efforts. Keep working on making the product better.

Not even close when they had to go the length of the field in 40 seconds to get the come from behind win?

Four point win over Ryle and it's not even close?

Hmmmm.......

Highlands gets all the flowers. They fed Lorenzen the ball all night and came for the jugular with the final touchdown pass. That nailed shut the coffin. A much deserving win, albeit frustration from my end.

Covington Catholic cannot make bone head mistakes. The penalty that set Highlands up for their killer field position cannot happen out of bounds.  You cannot allow that final pass to happen. They knew that ball was going to Lorenzen. How could it not after the game he had?

The positive: a moral victory. They will learn from their mistakes. It's hard to beat a good team twice, let alone your arch rival.

I hope there is a round 2. Game 2, if it happens, will be at Highlands, correct?

When did Highlands get rid of their touchdown "theme music?" I presume the cannon is the replacement. I know the cannon predates the theme music.

Lorenzen is a beast. That's all I have to say. Much respect.

How does Highlands fare next week at The Pit?
