  1. There was a 4 down series late in the game where Lorenzen hit the CC QB 4 times in a row where I thought he may not not get back up. 3 times it was their starter, last time was the backup. Tough dudes . They took a beating.
  2. I thought JV was 2nd team? So CC has a 2nd team JV team? Wow! Their deeper than I thought!
  3. PAIN is the prediction. Starters play 1 Qtr.
  4. I think Trinity rolls in this one. 35-13
  5. Birds up 21-0 with 6 minutes left in half.
  6. It’s been announced the gate fee is $10 this week per agreement by both teams due to the extra expense in the distance being traveled.
  7. I may be wrong, but I think the home team has to give more of the gate to the away team for travel expenses, at least in the playoffs. That’s what I was told last week anyway. Not sure if that is true.
  8. None until the six Championship games in Lexington. People need to do their research before making wild assumptions.
  9. Not entirely correct with #’s. Elder has closer to 900 boys, which is actually a low enrollment for them from what I’m told. HHS has an approximately 450 or less boys. So , twice as big and does a great job of getting kids to go there and become great student athletes. HHS does the same with its program. I’ve been saying for years, that if HHS played the Wyomings, Indian Hills, Madeira, etc. that would be in their class/size range, we would run the table on those teams most years. It’s all #’s and athletes when it comes to playing up in class by several classes no matter what state your in.
  10. No shame in losing to a very good Elder team. Birds are fine. On to the next challenge. 6-2 with this schedule at this point in the season, we’ll take it! Go Birds!
  11. I know it didn’t get past the LOS on one of them, but not sure about the other that was in question.
  12. And NONE of this story is why they call HHS Cakeaters. I’ll save your the real story, but we actually refer to ourselves as Cakeaters and we have for Many decades and it really doesn’t offend us, so keep calling us that. We’ll just start the C-A-K-E cheer and have fun with it!
  13. Would it really matter if they were playing man? If Lorenzen is one on one, he probably still makes that that play. Not many kids able to guard him one on one with a well thrown ball. He’s the best player on the field and made a big play, just like everyone expects out of him, including his teammates.
  14. There is a lot of great players in NKy this year, many on Covcath, but only one Tayden Lorenzen. Rio did a great job of getting it in there, but that was one heck of a catch by an incredible athlete for sure ! No shame in him beating you to win a classic game in a long line of classics between these two teams!
  15. I sat with #11 from Elders dad during the game. This was NOT their B team we played, but they had played a game last night against Lasalle who they beat soundly from what I gather. They have 71 kids on the team though. HHS was clearly larger then them across both sides of the ball and was able to push them around for the most part.
  16. I’m a Litmer guy myself. Love the Kid. He is an excellent HS QB. That being said, Lorenzen gives Defenses Nightmares when he’s back there. It would be VERY interesting to see him back there for sure. It would be must watch programming for sure. It would put some more butts in the stands too IMO. Everyone would come to watch that show. He is a tremendously talented athlete that needs the ball in his hands more often than not.
  17. I didn’t see this at all. I saw a team celebrate the fact that they get another shot a redemption this week. I was with a bunch of the boys both last night after the game and all day today, and none of them were happy with a Regional title Trophy I assure you. Last night was just another stepping stone to their ultimate goal and they were VERY clear that their coach said the same thing. Not sure who celebrates Regional titles in the Fort, but it sure as heck wasn’t the team or any parents I spent all night with last night!
  18. Yup, Down and Distance was weong all night and Refs barely corrected it throughout the night. Very frustrating to put up with.
  19. So, your picking the Birds to win then?
  20. Rio played just fine tonight, but I don’t think it was his best game. I think he has yet to play his best football. Tayden is still an asset that has just begun to be used to its fullest potential. When that happens look out, because that will be a game changer for the Birds. He is not someone that can be covered by even the best defenses the Birds will face in the upcoming weeks.
  21. Male is not Private, correct? They beat the 6A privates all the time AND have a few Championships under their belt if I’m not mistaken.
