RA09
Ethan Faulkner and Jonathon Ferguson combind for 56 points and 16 rebounds. (Faulkner 29pts, 11 reb, Ferguson 27 pts, 5 reb). Evan Faulkner chips in with 12 points and 6 assist. Elliott County is playing great basketball right now, mainly because the defense has really step up this past 3 weeks. Ms Liberty
It will take more than 2 scoring to get the Lions anywhere remember you have 5 players out there not
hootscoot
It will take more than 2 scoring to get the Lions anywhere remember you have 5 players out there not 2 If I read RA09 correct he stated that Faulkner had 29, Ferguson 27, faulkner12 that is 68 points out of 83 so someone else is scoring besides which ever two you were referring to. What is your point anyway? I thought they were already going somewhere!!!!!:creepy:
BogeyMan
Ms. Liberty you are way off base. Three players in double figure is pretty good balance and if you check the stats a cuople of others were close including 8th grader Timmy Knipp. Elliott is getting solid contributions from several players and they are on a roll right now. If I have ever seen a team play "team" ball it is Elliott at this point.

YAKOFNORWEGIA
Does Knipp start? If he and Maynard are coming off the bench they are getting a lot of scoring outside the starting five.
BogeyMan
Chris Knipp is a sophmore starter. His brother Timmy is the 8th grader providing scoring and rebounding off the bench. Maynard is an offensive spark off the bench and can flat out shoot when left open.
sportsfan1977
Another Big win from the young Lions:dancingpa :dancingpa Ferguson has been on a roll lately. Good to see the Twins come in there with some big numbers. :thumb:
Milhouse
Chris Knipp is a sophmore starter. His brother Timmy is the 8th grader providing scoring and rebounding off the bench. Maynard is an offensive spark off the bench and can flat out shoot when left open. Chris is playing great in his role & Timmy is exceptional especially when you remember he is only an 8th grader. Maynard can flat out shoot but he is lucky if he gets 2-3 shots a game even when he is open. The pass does not seem to come his way nearly as often as it should. They will need this against good teams & will need both Knipp brothers to keep performing as well as they are now.
Eagle 8
My prediction of 29 wasn't too far off. btw....It may be years in the future before Morgan ever sees a regional tourney again after moving to the 62nd district. Just my opinion.
BogeyMan
Getting to play in the 61st was nice for Morgan and Rowan wasn't it? Now it all sets up very nicely for Rowan. They may never miss another regional.

Is it: 61st - Rowan, Bath, Menifee, Fleming 62nd - East, West, Morgan, Elliott, Lewis
Nets
Random thoughts... 1) Maynard from Elliott is pure shooter and they will need his stroke down the stretch as well as late in the games when FT's are decided. He was tops in the 16th last year at the line and is something like 20-47 3 point attempts this year??? 2) 3 man crews in boys and girls basketball games this season has been like receiving a root canal, crowbar to the 'brow, punch in the stomach, kick in the ....well, you get the picture. 19,841 whistles blown and compares to watching SEC football on CBS with extended TV timeouts. Huge difference in flow of the game comparing 2 man/3 man games. 3) Elliott is best offensive team in region. Weakness is defending the post and giving up some easy buckets when pressing. Bona fide inside presence can really trump the perimeter attack of the Lions, however, they play so carefree and with energy that it makes them very tough. 4) The Knipp kid may have as much 'upside' as any kid on Lion's roster. He's long, big frame, young, can put on floor and create, and has poise beyond years. Ferg and Faulk's get pub and they are goooood. Real good. But they have more offensive weapons in Knipp, Maynard, etc. 5) Cougars will get better when they make FT's and limit TO's. When healthy and playing their best basketball, they will be a team nobody will want to face, especially when pressure is off them.
