I am not expecting everyone to get vaccinated. If we can get to 80%, that would be great. Every person who doesn't get vaccinated increases the risks of the pandemic for all of us. 

But some people make choices that increase risk and have bad results. Terrance Clarke would probably still be with us if he had "complied" and put on his seat belt.

Oddly enough, when you are checked into the hospital, they ask whether you have had the virus or not, but not whether you've had the vaccine. They do ask if you have had the flu shot.

I got my second dose (Moderna) this afternoon.   Other than my shoulder feeling like I took a 100MPH fastball off of it, nothing to complain about.

An interesting discussion is playing out across the country on the vaccine. Some are trying to restrict businesses from requiring the vaccine. Business owners are fighting back. Business owners saying that I get to make the rules for my company and my employees and if I want to require a vaccine I should be allowed to do it.  The business owners argument is that does not infringe on individual freedom. The individual can go look for a job elsewhere.  For more on this, google what is happening in hospitals in Texas that are requiring vaccination.

The business owners are right. Pretty sure I heard a podcast on this a few months back and the power resides with them. The overwhelming majority of businesses aren't going to get involved with vaccine stuff - though the boogeyman is out in full force - but those that do are allowed to set conditions of employment. Some are trying to equate it to discrimination, but this is not going against your protected classes (i.e. age, race, gender, etc.).

And I agree. The thing I find really interesting in this debate is in many cases it is pitting people who are anti-vaxers against those who usually side with them. There is some "truth" and "reality" being forced to meet.

I identify as being vaccinated so all is good.

The Olympics announced no spectators allowed due to a virus outbreak in Japan. Only 19% vaccination rate in Japan. Stunning. Maybe they don't have enough vaccine? Certainly expected more there with the Olympics coming.

Thank goodness the US is near 70%. Appreciating and enjoying the daily freedom here in the US resulting from vaccinations.

I just listened to a news report that said the percentage of Americans fully vaccinated is 47%.  That would not include Americans with only one shot or Americans with natural immunity after recovering from COVID which would bring the total number much closer to the 70% VoR quoted.
