swamprat
At that point in time Cleveland was the rock n roll capital of the world. WWWS was the the top rock station in the country, and every act that was an act came through Cleveland. The fisrt WS of R concert was June 23, 1974: Joe Walsh and Barnstorm REO Speedwagon Lynyrd Skynyrd The Beach Boys The Pink Floyd concert was the 8th WS of R concert at the stadium, and the only one that had only one band. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 86,000 people there. There was one more in 1980, but I had left for college and couldn't make it. It was: Eddie Money The J. Geils Band Def Leppard Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band I loved J.Geils Band back in the day. The Blow Your Face Out show was fantastic. Saw J.Geils in Morehead in 77 or 78. Fantastic concert band. In fact, at the time, their live albums out sold their studio ones.

swamprat
coldweatherfan, you are bringing back memories. I went to the Rock Super Bowl in Orlando in 1982. I can't remember the opening act, but the B-52s were boo'd off stage. Joan Jett and the Black Hearts came on before feature act, The Who.

Why on earth would a promoter try to shoehorn the B-52's into that type of bill? That's like Jimi Hendrix touring with The Monkees.

BigVMan23
Haven't been to many concerts, but my top would probably be YES at the Cow Palace in San Fran around 1986. Incredible musicians. Worked security for Patty Lovelace and Vince Gill in the early 90's in a concert at Murray State. Not much of a country fan but I have to say I was impressed by Gills talent that night.
