TomcatChick41 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 16th Region Round 1 Monday at 6:30 Tomcats win again over Elliott Ashland 58 Elliott 51
TCatfan Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Ashland matches up better against Elliott than they did against Fairview. Just stop the three like we did last time and we will be ok. Ashland by 8.
kinglion Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Ashland experience will help them overcome a very good Elliott Co team Ashland-54 Elliott-50
Bandit29 Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 Unlike the last meeting, Elliott will shot better and the Tomcats will have a cold night. Elliott 72 Ashland 63
BleedRed Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Elliott's offense has looked great at times(averaged 70 points per game in season play)...but they're going up against a very solid Ashland defense that allowed only 56 points per game...so i'm taking Ashland's defense to get the job done in a low scoring affair... Ashland- 51 Elliott- 45

Ashland- 51 Elliott- 45 Totally agree 100% BUT..... Ashland is do to come out and bust it wide open. Ashland 60 Elliott 53
Platinum Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 In the regional tourny its all about defense. Hardly ever do we see a score in the 60's and very rarely the 70's. Ashland 56 Elliot 49
Bandit29 Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 im sorry guys i have to disagreee with u all......i think elliotts offense and there run&gun style will wear the tomcats out in the 4th quarter elliott 70 ashland 62
Fastbreak Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 A tale of 2 teams x 2 teams... Elliott and Ashland have both been like Jekyll and Hyde this season. It all depends on which Elliott team and which Ashland team shows up to play. If Elliott comes out puts the pedal to the metal and hits their shots, Ashland will have a tough time staying with them. If on the other hand, Ashland is able to control (slow) the tempo and/or keep Elliott from getting a lot of open looks, it will be a long night for the Lions. A slow half court small ball game favors the Tomcats, diminishing the advantage Elliott should have on the larger college sized court at MSU. A wide open full court attack favors the Lions. Like Pascal's Wager this formula has four possible outcomes... 3 out of 4 favor the Tomcats.
