Elliott County 65 Morgan County 53 (62nd District Semifinals)
This analysis is laughable and a shot at Coach Perry who YOU, of all people, know how hard he works. You continually begrudge Coach Perry because the 03 team couldn't get to the state tournament. It is time to let go of that and be a man and take responsibility and come to terms that you and your team were selfish which lead to you not accomplishing your goal. Now, 13 years later, you find yourself continuing to place blame on someone who supported you to the highest regard. Helped you become a college basketball player or do you still believe he had nothing to with that? Very sad. I hope one day you wake up and realize that Coach Perry would have did anything for YOU to reach any goal and to be successful! Here's to you Coach Perry! A great teacher, administrator, coach and, most importantly, a wonderful person who dedicates countless hours to Morgan Co. youth! You truly are a class act and EVERYONE in that community is lucky to have you! PS: Dropouts hurt the accountability of high schools per KY Statue therefore your comment about the high schools achievement far fetched.

Ashland Pitching
Caldwell, Walker and Adkins for Russelll all went on to pitch in college. Adkins is still pitching. Pretty good staff. It is too early to tell if Ashland will be that good.

EKC Meeting
If Bath and Elliott make it to the region the Wildcats better hope they don't meet the Lions. Talk about a whipping.

EKC Meeting
It matters to the teams, players, and coaches in the EKC. Obviously it mattered to Bath County who tried to get the title any way they could but refused to play the top teams in the conference. Funny how they could play Berea, Model, and teamsd like that but managed to dodge Elliott County and West Carter. BTW what other teams are unhappy other than Bath?

62nd District Tournament
I agree that Elliott County can be beat, whether or not it will be a 16th region opponent is yet to be determined. The by-laws were in place and understandable to all school voting delegates. I know this for certainty because they signed the document when it was adopted. With that being said, nothing should be interpreted or as it was qouted "in the spirit of the rule". Its the responsiblity of the KHSAA to settle it, they are the governing body. In their by-laws it states to move to a coin-toss or blind draw, which was adopted yesterday by the voting delegates. Playing each other again is not possible by the by-laws written in the KHSAA handbook. Whoever Morgan County gets in the district, whether it be West Carter or Elliott County, they will give their all and represent their school to the best of the their abilities. Right is right and all the documents on file point to that. Good luck to all teams in the district.

62nd District pairings
So you have no stake in the tournament? And yet you asked a private question to NETS, but then posted it for all to see? I'm having difficulty understanding then, but that's what makes this a great place for discussion. If in fact you do have a reply from NETS despite your attempt at public ridicule, I think that only reinforces what I posted about his character. If there were, in fact, a league of extraordinary gentlemen, he would be a charter member. I'm hoping that after your interactions, you would concur. Have a good day. With no team left, you have my best wishes for at least some good basketball and not-so-healthy-but-oh-so-good concessions. Me, I'll be traveling EAST for my hoops watching!

62nd District pairings
Spin it how you want, but by asking that question sir, you are implying that NETS has a narrow agenda and only cares about self. I've known him for a long time, and I can assure you that if/when he has a dog in any fight, his battle will be waged on the foundations of fairness, integrity, and for the greater good of ALL involved. He frames his opinions on what is right, not bowing to established networks of archaic thinking. To insinuate otherwise is petty and irresponsible, not to mention a potential violation of this great site. Good luck to your team in the post-season.

Somerset Job
It amazes me that everytime a job comes open Jim Bob Hicks name is associated with it. The guy has more controversy surrounding him than Brittany Spears. Just maybe, the Somerset administration needs to call Owlsey County and Greenup County school officials to find out. Jim Hicks is a good person but an average coach at best.

Don Daniel Resigns?
I guess Coach Bill M. Runyon isn't a good coach using your logic since he went 6-16 in 03/04 and then 14-15 in 04/05. That statement is borderline obsured. Perry is a top of the line head coach and would be a great hire for any school with a passionate basketball program.

Elliott County 79 Greenup County 53
Elliott County has been impressive all year despite tension in their camp at times, remember the District tournament finals. I for one am looking forward to the re-match with Rose Hill. Who do you think has the advantages with perimeter and post play. Can't wait to here the responses.

District Seeding Question
When it comes to head to head with two teams it goes by points up to 15. East beat Elliott by 4 and Elliott beat East by the max 15 points, so Elliott holds a 11 point advantage over Elliott East beat Morgan by 6 and Morgan beat East by 4 so East holds a two point advantage over Morgan Morgan beat Elliott by 7 and Elliott beat Morgan by 6 so Morgan holds a 1 point advantage over Elliott. All of this is just head to head. When it comes to 3 team tiebreaker that is a lot more complicated from what i have been told.
-
District Seeding Question
Morgan holds the tiebraker over Elliott, as a result of their head to head games this season. East holds tiebreaker over Morgan head to head, Elliott holds tiebreaker over East head to head, and Morgan holds tiebreaker over Elliott. So what each needs is the following: East needs West to beat Elliott if that happens East is 1, Morgan 2, Elliott 3, West 4, Morgan needs West to beat East if that happens Morgan 1, Elliott 2, East 3 West 4. Elliott is sitting pretty because with the three team tiebreaker Elliott is #1. Don't never count out West Carter and Coach Perry.

Morgan 34 East Carter 30
Morgan had a very tough week, 1 point loss to Rowan on last second shot, 6 point loss to Ashland, and 4 point win over East. Tough week for any 16th region team.

Elliott County @ Morgan County
I'm hoping for a close game, but it could get out of hand if Elliott County shoots well, like they always seem to do against the Cougars pressure defense. The Lions are the team to beat and wil be throughout the entire season. If the past is any indication of what will happen, Elliott County will dominate, but hopefully the Cougars can make it a game.
-
Elliott County @ Morgan County
I want to let it be known that I hope the best for Elliott County except when they are playing against the Cougars. They are in the 62nd district and I for one would be supportive of this district before any of the others. Elliott County has a special group of athletes at the present but this may not allows be the case. Remember all the teams you disgrace and destroy on your way up the list are the same teams you will meet on your way down.

Elliott County @ Morgan County
I know Coach Perry personally, as we have been friends for some time, and he said none of the above but why should I defend him. He is trying to prepare the Cougars to have a better season than last year. He believes his team is better offensively this year than last. At least this season, they have players who are giving their all instead of just going through the motions. Could that be why he feels more confident than last season. If anyone understands the talent at Elliott County it would be Coach Perry. His teams' were handled easily by the Lions last season and they return everyone. Elliott County is by far the most talented team in the region but they are not invincible. As for what Coach Perry supposedly said he was quoted as saying that this would be a game in which the Cougars would have to play almost perfect to win. I take it as though he respects the Lions and is preparing his team with these intentions. As for Elliott County being a first half team and the Cougars having their number, that information is totally false. The rumors are flying early in the season and the season is yet to start for most teams. Good luck to both teams as I mentioned in an earlier post and may the best team win.
