Not selling them short by any means, but did the OT loss last night to Bath seal Morgan's fate at #4?

I think so. It's a shame, all of the teams in the 62nd are playing at a high level right now. Obviously no one wants Elliott Co. in the first round. I am sure Morgan Co. will be ready, they are extremely well coached.

Morgan played them well, not long ago. Battle of Carter Co. will be interesting as well.

Elliott Co. vs Morgan Co.

East Carter vs West Carter

16th62nd got any dates and times yet.

East vs West in the first round of the district will be a great game! Its hard to bet against either team.

I believe all girls first round games are on Monday the 23rd.

Elliott vs Morgan boys on Tues. 24th

East vs West boys on Wed. 25th

Girls finals Thurs. 26th

Boys finals Fri. 27th.

Not sure on start times.

I think East Carter's home cooking with the KHSAA with the ruling about the showcase at Tates Creek sealed Morgans fate.

It could have been the poor wording in the tie-breaker system that caused all the mess. It stated 2 teams that were tied and should have stated any tie will be settled with head to head point differential. It was a mess any way you cut it, hopefully it is now fixed for the future. Definitely a tough situation for all involved.

I think East Carter's home cooking with the KHSAA with the ruling about the showcase at Tates Creek sealed Morgans fate.

No "home cooking". A clarification was asked for, just as Morgan Co asked for a clarification of the 2nd tie-breaker. How was that "home cooking"?

Well, young fella, I think I can answer that one. Morgan is fixin' to get sent home. Cooked.

Good luck to all district participants.

How do you throw out a showcase? I would imagine the wording in the clarifcation is your "home cookin." Don King that was funny, I don't care who you are!!!!

A definition of what constitutes a tournament game was requested and received. Morgan apparently didn't like the KHSAA's clarification as I am sure East and West didn't care for Morgan County ignoring the intent of the tie-breaker rules by insisting it applied only if two teams were tied. There was no "home cooking." The KHSAA decided the question. Live with it. The rule regarding won-loss percentage was ridiculous anyway. It promotes weak scheduling.

Okay sportsfans, let's make this make sense in my feeble head. Hairspray sometimes makes things soak in slower.

The first tiebreaker was point differential if 2 teams tied.

However three were tied.

Next tiebreaker was winning percentage excluding tournaments.

East and Morgan tied, thus a coin flip

East then called the KHSAA and got a 2day event they were in ruled a tournament.

However, to my knowledge the definition of a tournament means you can advance, and unless I'm mistaken, East couldn't advance.

So, in this old goat's opinion, Morgan will fight this deal. Not sure much can or will be done, but I suppose this ain't the last we've heard on this one.
