im sorry guys i have to disagreee with u all......i think elliotts offense and there run&gun style will wear the tomcats out in the 4th quarter

 

Their run and gun offense didn't wear us out in the regular season. Ashland won that matchup 77-68. Ashland played tough defense and didn't let Elliott get off any good looks from behind the arch until late. I look for Ashlands defense to be the difference in this one also with Ashland winning.

Does that mean if Greenup Co. and Russell meet up in the Championship the score will be

I think that this game will look much like the Ashland-Rose Hill game with Weddington and McDavid guarding each other and perhaps neutralizing each other like McDavid and Euton did. If that is the case and if neither is in foul trouble (much easier for Weddington to get into foul trouble IMO) then the other four from Elliot must shoot it well to win. Otherwise, Ashland will advance. Oh, it pains me soooo to say that!:cry:

If McDavid and Weddington do neutralize each other, that could be a favor for Elliott because they have 3 other scorers and a great shooter coming off the bench.

I agree, but Elliott will have to keep Matt Thomas from beating them off the bounce and pulling up for easy short range jumpers. I do, however, think that Ashland will again try to control tempo. Not what Elliott likes to do. I'd like to see Elliott press and try to get up the floor and see how Ashland responds.:thumb:

Elliott County would be very happy with a McDavid-Weddington trade-off. Elliott has three people who can handle the ball and put it in the hole better than Weddington vs: Thomas for Ashland. Elliott still has to get over playing a team with that big "A" on their jersey. If they do, they can give Ashland a tough game.

That is definately an impressive post. The only bad thing is that we're talking about a high school basketball game in the 16th region and anything (and usually everything) can happen. I will try a different approach:

That being said, who knows who will win. My basketball "gut" tells me that Ashland will have a great game plan in place and will keep this game in the 50's or maybe even 40's and squeak out a tough one. My heart tells me to go with the Lions since that is who I'll be cheering for anyways. I'll say:
