LCDAWGS19
Not true. Simms took the assistant principal job at the High School. District Policy is that administrators cannot coach. Thanks for trying, though. just informed this wasn't the case.

Hilltopper2005
Pendleton County has some great assistant coaches. Would hate to see them leave. But I was shocked Cravens was hired in first place. Heard him and superintendent are big buddies. Well they are both from Campbell County school system so they obviously are buddies or he wouldn't have been chosen as the coach.
Hilltopper2005
I can't speak on Coach Cravens team this year, because I only saw one game. But I know that Coach Simms teams played with heart and a focused game plan. There was a great sense of unity on his teams and they excelled in the big games. True, very true! Did not see that with this unit under Coach Cravens.
MorganRaider
I think it is tough when a new coach comes in and isn't able to pick his own staff. I think it was awkward for him and his assisants. It looked like the assistants were not giving/sharing input with the head coach during the season. Every game I watched this year the assisants were just setting there and not talking. I also thought it was strange when you have Monroe who I thought was one of the top point guards in the region not playing point guard this year. He was moved to the 2G position most of the time and only bringing the ball up only when they were being pressured. The injuries this year definitely didn't help matters either. The seniors basically had to learn a new system and a new way of doing things than the past. With that all being said I still think Harrison County was and is a better team this year. I really didn't see them lose a game that they should of won with maybe the exception of Oak Hills. The Pendleton assistants are/were very good. With that said it would be tough for a head coach to work with guys he didn't know and who had worked for the coach who was run out. The same is true for the assistants. Coach Cravens should have been allowed to pick his staff if he was not given that opportunity. The Pendleton assistants, if quality, would have landed somewhere else and the head coach could have people he knew and trusted on his bench. Plato
I was under the impression that Coach Simms chose to go the administration route. If someone forced him out, they are an idiot.
letabrotherspeak
Unrealistic expectations by some in Falmouth. Dwindling population and the talent comes in peaks and valleys. Coach Simms did a good job.
MorganRaider
I think the superintendent was not a Simms fan at all but run off was probably too strong of a term. All water under bridge now either way. The program has moved on.
TheSportsProvetto
Not true. Simms took the assistant principal job at the High School. District Policy is that administrators cannot coach. Thanks for trying, though. Actually it is true. From what I know and my understanding, if Coach Simms had not taken the Asst. Principal job this year, he would have not have had it offered to him again. He was offered it multiple times in years and did not accept it and chose to coach instead. KnightSchool
My understanding he wouldn't take advice / suggestions anyway. You sound like someone with an axe to grind? You have "heard" and "understand" ...state facts don't be a bs stirrer.
MorganRaider
There have been staff changes I'm just not sure who left. Anybody know? Coach Cravens will need a summer of improvement from his guys. Harrison and Nicholas both look to be strong next year and Pendleton lost 7 guys. The pot stirring does no one any good. I agree with Second Chair. Time for PC to focus on the next season!
KYSportster
Well they are both from Campbell County school system so they obviously are buddies or he wouldn't have been chosen as the coach. From what I was told, Coach Cravens was asked to consider the job after 2 other people turned it down, including one of the asst. coaches. He had little game time help from his staff, as was noted from others on this thread. He wanted suggestions from his coaches during the game, but he got very little from what I saw. "from what you saw" and "from what you were told"... Hmm, so nothing factual. People still trying to start things. Just leave the situation be. The season is over...no reason to mull over the past. LCDAWGS19
Yes, one of the assistants has resigned, but that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Coach Cravens. There... Now you know.
Baller
You sound like someone with an axe to grind? You have "heard" and "understand" ...state facts don't be a bs stirrer. Anybody that has watched this team the last few years has seen how this coaching staff has interacted during games previously versus now. You don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to figure out that Coach Cravens doesn't trust his current staff. Sit at a game and watch the interaction, none. As I stated in an earlier post, i have no kids or family that plays on the team. I am simply someone who used to live in County that follows the team and has seen the difference first hand. My "hearing" and "understanding" come from people that still live there, but there is no need to mention names here. There is no axe to grind because there is nothing to gain.
