Colonels_Wear_Blue
The DA decided to not file any criminal charges against the officer. Good.
sportsfan41
The DA decided to not file any criminal charges against the officer. Good. But now the "victims" family is saying they're going to file a civil suit. Which made me wonder will the department cover his legal expenses for this sense he was on duty? Which made me wonder will the department cover his legal expenses for this sense he was on duty? I'm not sure. I would have to guess there is plenty of legal precedent amongst law enforcement agencies on how to handle this.
JOHNDUNHOFT
Each city is backed by the Kentucky League of Cities and I am sure they have to carry a certain amount of insurance for these kind of law suits. I wish the officer the best of luck on the civil side of this one. JD
