TE, possibly Jacob Tamme of Boyle Co. Another DB could possibly be Bo Smith of Owensboro, he played with Miller. Both players play for the Cats now.

If memory serves Jacob Tamme was a WR at Boyle, not a TE. (Though he does play one in college. :D )

How bout Frank Jacobs(?) at TE from NCC, he was a Mr Football at TE in the mid 80s..had great size and hands and very athletic...Would be hard not to include him...

I would prob put Hoptowns Miguel Merritt and Pad Tilghmans Kurt Barber at a LB spot...They were also a Mr Footballs and had very successful college careers at Alabama and Southern Cal, respectively...I think Barber also played in the NFL for awhile, not sure about Merritt...

Dawson did play at Bryan Station. Has there been any great TE's come out of the state of KY?

If there is I can't think of any.

Did UT recruit Stocker for TE or DE?

IMO, Chase Gibson of Pikeville would deserve recognition. I believe he went to Marshall out of high school. Some sort of injury ended his career.

I think you have to look at players who have had careers in the NFL. Dale Lindsey (LB-Bowling Green) played 10+seasons in Cleveland. Lester Boyd (LB-Franklin-Simpson), New Orleans, Frank Lemaster (lenghty career in Philly), Robert Reynolds (LB-BG), Tennessee Titans after starting on a National Championship team at Ohio State, and Kurt Barber (LB-Pad. Tilghman) New York Jets all would have to rank highly at their positions. Virgil Livers (DB-Nelson Co.) had a lengthy career with Chicago after only playing one year of HS football. Joe Jefferson (DB-Logan Co.) is currently with the Colts. It would take a great deal of research to come up with a list of NFL players from KY.
