How big are they and how fast in the 40 yard dash? The reason I ask is because a player can be a great high school athlete and then not get any love from the D-1's because of lack of size and speed.

Doesn't Catholic have to replace 34 seniors? No matter how good people think they may be, it will be hard to replace that much experience. Plus, Bell County has pretty much everyone back, so they should be the favorite in 4A. My question is, will anyone in the western part of the state be able to compete with whoever comes out of the east?

I agree! The KHSAA should make it the same 3 weeks for all teams. Some teams have had to work around snow days and some will have to work around spring break. To make it fair for all teams, allow them to have spring football practice during the same time period.

Is this the same defending state champion team that lost to LexCath by 26? FC will have to improve a lot to make the top 3 or 4 in the 11th region.

Yes! She is their 3rd leading scorer and is a two year starter. Catholic will need her healthy if they want to make a run at a state title.

Everyone on here needs to stop crying about the officiating. There is not a fan or team out there in any game that thinks they get a fair shake with officiating, but that is part of it. These are both two really good teams and they have a chance to play again. I believe that Catholic has a tougher road to get there, but they have the team to do it. This game reminded me of the first one, but with the opposite team being down by a lot and coming back to win. These are two really good teams, so give them some credit and stop the whinning. By the way, some of you on here have mentioned LUCK. Well, I believe that it takes a little luck to win it all, so you want to be lucky.

Boyle, I'm not so sure about. They still are a little unproven to me since Smith left. From what I read on here, it seems if they turned the corner this year and played some teams tough. LexCath is a very worthy opponent and could be a hindrance to Boyle continuing to racking up a lot of championship. If you were to post that list in another 5 years, LexCath may be on it, so that would be some change. If not for the great run that Boyle had when they won 5 in a row, Catholic would probably have a couple more. For several years, the State Championship was played during regional final weekend.

LO was too one dimensional with it.

Catholic does run a version of it, but they incorporate more run game into their offense to make them more balanced.

Are the players paying for them? I thought the KHSAA has a limit ($300) on what the school or donations can pay for?

Lexington Catholic played 3 (Trinity in a scrimmage and St. X. and Highlands in the regular season) of the top 30 teams in the country. That is a pretty difficult schedule. It also looked as if the schedule got Catholic prepared for the playoffs.

I think Catholic's schedule prepared them well for the playoffs. People forget that Catholic only beat Boyle County 18 - 14 (could have gone either way) and Harrison County 14 - 0 during the regular season. A tough schedule does prepare teams for the playoffs.
