    Great win for Corbin. Congrats.
  2. Good win for Madison, they bascially gave the game to Williamsburg, but the Burg could not make the plays when they needed them at the end. Hopefully the Burg can rebound from the tough competition and play better in District play.
  3. Cumberland is a pretty good team, it's a shame this has to be the last year :(
  4. LCA by 2 or 3 touchdowns...
  5. sounds to me like you are fishing for a reason to complain about Williamsburg.
  6. Cumberland didn't look too good at that grid either...... so, we'll see.
  7. pretty week schedule.
  8. it breaks my heart knowing that this will be the last year for Cumberland & Evarts to be able to play Harlan and Williamsburg. Big schools are not the answer IMHO.
  9. I do believe Williamsburg went to the Region Championship back in 04, and I think Lynn Camp won the Region the year before that. I think that pretty much says that Somerset was not the only team in their former district.
  10. Dunbar by a touch or two
  11. Williamsburg Lexington Chistian Academy Somerset St. Xavier 160
  12. Burg 28 Harlan 14
  13. I see quite a few of the same names..
  14. from what a member of the coaching staff told me, it was more a pushing match because a couple of players got tangled up after a play. I was told burg led by as many as 12 points but got gassed (most of there boys are playing iron man and are mainly sophmore and Freshman) toward the end of the game and gave up 2 big plays at the end and was pretty much scoring on WC at will until Moses had a bad throw for an int that turned the game around. However he said that WC had improved quite a bit on the passing game and looked to be more balanced this year. Regardless goodluck to WC this season and Coach Black always a class act. WC and Williamsburg will always be rivals in no matter what they do and I personally would love to see WC and Williamsburg meet in the regular season.
  15. Williamsburg doesn't have the luxury of having all the numbers that the other schools in the district have. Speaking from experience sometimes you have a team full of corner players that you have to put in the middle infield and try to make the best of it because you don't have the players to field those spots. Stricklin has done a heck of a job with what little he has. Until you have coached in a school the size of Williamsburg you can't really know what it is like to try and field a team and then you have to go and play schools 2 to 5 times bigger. Against schools of simliar size Williamsburgs has done very well. Hats off to the baseball team for a good year.
  16. support the sport that is in season for the school. Although when you are a small school you sometimes have to share players. Just the facts of life. At a large school you should be able to field enough players to not have to make an exception.
  17. wow, what a bad call. it's a homerun. No reason to do that.
  18. the Burg has a lot of upcoming 8th graders who are already busting butt in the weight room. I would not be surprised to see 3 or 4 Freshman starting for the burg next year.
  19. I really dislike that rule at this level of play.
  20. does these rules also apply to Softball?
