Final. Shootout in the Burg...Jackets finally figured out how to slow down the Raiders in the 4th quarter and pull it out.

How many yards of offense were in this thing??? I heard the score driving back from Harlan and thought the radio was garbbling the score. WOW!!!!

I am pretty sure WHS had over 500 total and somewhere around 180 to 200 rushing.

wow!!

Great rebound, Williamsburg!!

How many yards did the watts kid from McCreary have? I heard something like 325 on 21 carries and 7 td's is this right?

Watts was phenominal but the Jackets couldn't tackle my grandmother who has been dead 7 years. The jackets started 3 freshmen and it may take Coach Herron a while to figure out who to play on that side of the ball. The offense was great. Will Moses runs as hard as anyone. Brock and Brown both made some big plays. The Jackets looked dead early when they were down 16 and the Raiders had the ball.A good gut check by the orange. McCreary is much better this year. The Watts kid is bigger and faster this year and played extremely hard. He is the best kid I've seen this year. Don't tell Coach Jones I said this but he may be a better football player than basketball which is saying a lot. Hard one to lose but the Raiders are much improved and other than Bell and Rock should give the rest of their schedule fits.

This score was the shocker of the nigt to me. I'd say it was like watching a tennis game!!!

Would love to have watched this one.

As is said before this game, Williamsburg's offense can score. They will have to outscore people this year as they will have to play young folks on defense to keep the offense fresh. I did see some nice effort out of some of the freshman on d. Chris Lowery had a couple of nice plays on d, and Andrew Root and Cody Perkins surprised me on the d line as they had Mcreary's O Line moving back quite often. Hopefully these 3 and others will mature fast and improve the Jackets D. Excellent game by Ryan Moses at QB, and I thought the Jacket O Line was much improved over the LCA game.

McCreary made too many mistakes in this one. The offensive line of McCreary was much bigger and stronger than the defense of Williamsburg, but the Jackets small linemen were able to cut the larger Raiders. That said, Watts was unstoppable. He was taken from the game twice for cramps. Along with the seven touchdowns, he also had an interception. The two-point conversion at the end of the third was questionable. Only the line judge could have said whether the ball crossed the line, and he said no good. However, the umpire said it was. McCreary had the opportunity to get the ball back with a minute to go, but a mistake jumping offsides on the fourth down sealed the win for 'Burg. Tough loss for the Raiders.

The Raiders had one more TD in this game than the Jackests did. However, the raiders were unable to convert the the 2 point play 6 times which = the difference in a win and loss. Both defenses struggle as is eve ident by the score. This was a hard one to lose for the Raiders and we will tell what kind of team they have next Friday when we see if they can regain their composure and defeat Leslie Co. I would have to say that the Raiders have a very good chance at a winning season and maybe even their first ever playoff appearence. This was a hard fought game on both sides and I wish both teams the best of luck with the rest of the season.

This is the best Raider team I have seen and I hope they take the positives from this game rather than dwell on the loss. They played hard until the final buzzer. The line judge was right and I am glad that this was a four point game rather than a two point game. I hate to see teams give that kind of effort and lose on a bad call.

All of the Raiders know that they lost this game by themselves. They had mental mistakes that always happens against the 'Burg. Every player I've talked to said they should have won the game. Hopefully, they can recover and beat Leslie.

If it is mental mistakes then McCreary will have to right the ship fast, this might be the best team McCreary has ever had, but mental mistakes against teams like Rock and Bell will end the game in a possession or two.
