  1. Not sure my heart has slowed yet. What a game. #6 and #10 for Pineville are very good. Ryan Moses was unstoppable. Andrew Root played like he was posessed, and Brown, Payne, and Petit made big catches. A great comeback by the Jackets, good prep for Fairview...now Go Big Orange!
  2. Pretty sure Root is only playing football and baseball. I've heard him talk about getting stronger and faster in the weight room so doubt you'll see him on the floor.
  3. I'm not sure about that....is his knee recovered? Last I heard was he may not be playing anything the rest of this year.
  4. Watched film too and was close to where each occurred. Guess we will have to agree to disagree.
  5. I guess that Lynn Camp just dropped 4 fumbles instead of getting popped hard. I disagree, the Jackets were definitely more aggresive and physical.
  6. Williamsburg definitely out hit the Campers today. This senior class finishes 4-0 against Lynn Camp. The defensive front beat Lynn Camp's vaunted o-line to the punch all day. Root, Collins, Payne, Perkins, and Mitchell were huge today.
  7. The Jacket defense finally stopped the run against Campbellsville. The move of Root and Perkins (although they may be out of position) to d line allowed the linebackers to run free and Collins and Brown took advantage. I think the Burg slows the Campers down and wins 24-13
  8. You are correct...LCA was in a dogfight for awhile.
  9. I am going to take the Burg to bounce back and win a close one 38 - 30
  10. Now thats funny I don't care who you are!
  11. I can't believe anyone would think they laid down. Easy to say from the stands, but Williamsburg plays about 17 players, most going both ways, and was really beat up by injuries. I actually saw several kids playing their butts off and their hearts out. Saying they quit is ridiculous.
  12. After watching the Jackets practice this week they seem to be making the right adjustments to injury. Thomas moved in for Lowrie in game 1 and turned in a 100 plus yard performance. The defense looked sharper overall in practice, and did turn in an outstanding performance against a much improved Jellico team. I guess I'll go with my heart in this one knowing South has the numbers advantage, and pick Williamsburg 38 - 28.
  13. I would, at this point, think South has a tremendous edge in numbers, however during the Herron era the Jackets fight like , well mad yellow jackets when pushed in a corner. I agree this could be a very interesting game.
  14. The Jackets are banged up but coming off of a good win against Jellico. South enters the game with a loss to Letcher. Can the Jackets overcome injuries and South Laurel's depth?
  15. After the mess I watched against Clay County and LC last night, you may want to put C'ville as the sole leader. If they don't fix some things fast, it won't matter.:irked: It was scary.:scared: I heard that W'burg struggled some last night. Can anyone elaborate? Williamsburg was short a few starters due to injury, and had several players starting their first varsity game ever. Offense struggled but may have found a few answers as well. Travis Thomas turned in an outstanding performance at running back with over 120 yards and a couple of touchdowns.Pettit made a number of nice catches and showed he could be dominant. For the most part the offensive line protected well, Root and Collins were impressive, and after Perkins left with cramps, Mitchell was serviceable at Center. Possibly the most impressive aspect of the night was the oft maligned defense. Perkins was playing well until cramps hit. The front of Mack, Mitchell, and Hall held Jellico's rushing game in check, and Root was a warrior on d, not sure if he ever left the field. Cody Hill in his first start at safety forced a fumble Also Logan Hamlin gave late relief and made several nice plays. History says a team makes its greatest improvements between week one and two, I look for alot of improvement on the Jackets part.
  16. Williamsburg limps in with several injuries and takes this one over a much improved Jellico squad.
  17. Meet the Jackets is tonight at the Burg. Food starts at 7 and the show starts at 8:30, should be an exciting night with a big turn out!
  18. The lineman is a reserve and will hurt depth somewhat. Lowrie is a big loss, but then I think that the burg will adjust and you cant forget what a talent Barton is. I thought it was interesting to see some of the young guys catch the ball well for the Jackets in scrimmage last night. Yes Lowrie is a tough loss, but look to see the Jackets make a good adjustment and find a way to make positive progress.
  19. I don't think any conversation about QB's on a state wide level cannot include Williamsburg's Ryan Moses. He should shatter every school record in this his senior season.
  20. Actually Jeremy Collins is at left tackle replacing Rollins and should anchor that side very well. Perkins is playing center and is going to be stable. Root at right guard, and King at right tackle should do very well. Root is pretty technically sound and will improve daily, and King may be the most improved player on the team. Expect a ton of speed out of the backfield with Lowrie, and Barton will spell him and be the brusing back Lawson was last year. Overall I expect to see an explosive offense yet again this year. Ryan Moses continues to improve and should shatter school records this year.
  21. I understand camp went pretty well, physical and no injuries. Saw alot of improvement from the inside linebackers and overall from the young o-line. If they stay healthy it could be a good year.
