Why would a one point game between two evenly matched teams shock you? I listened to the last part of this one on the radio and it sounded as if Ryan Moses would not let the Jackets lose. He has had a great career at Williamsburg and will be irreplaceable. Stan was more excited than normal if that is believeable. Sounds like a great game between two teams who left it on the field.

Coach Elam had his team ready to play. I think it was the best Pineville team I've seen in years. It was one of the funnest high school games I've every seen. It was a great night for football. I hope # 3 from Pineville is ok.

This game is what high school football is about. Good effort from both teams. It sounds like a GREAT game to watch...wish I could have seen it. Good luck to both teams!!

Not sure my heart has slowed yet. What a game. #6 and #10 for Pineville are very good. Ryan Moses was unstoppable. Andrew Root played like he was posessed, and Brown, Payne, and Petit made big catches. A great comeback by the Jackets, good prep for Fairview...now Go Big Orange!

Field goal attempt was 37 yds. and wind was blowing hard. Had plenty of distance, but hooked left. The major factor was the snap was behind the holder..he brought it in , but threw off timing. Add to that the fact that Merrick was out of school nearly all week with flu and just barely cleared to even play; the first string long snapper was hauled off the field by ambulance last week..and did not play. That was a lot of pressure to put on a player snapping for a game the first time ever! As Middlesboro paper said, "just wasn't meant to be. Tough one.....the Senior kicker would probably trade all of his seven field goals this season for that one Senior Night kick!! every kicker's dream or nightmare.....depending on the outcome to hit/miss a game winning field goal. Hope he gets another chance next week.
