Good win for the Jackets. With less than 25 healthy players dressed today and to come up with the defensive effort they did. Congrats to Coach Herron and Defensive Staff for pushing the right buttons and earning a home playoff game as well.

Williamsburg definitely out hit the Campers today. This senior class finishes 4-0 against Lynn Camp. The defensive front beat Lynn Camp's vaunted o-line to the punch all day. Root, Collins, Payne, Perkins,and Mitchell were huge today.

I thought this was an evenly played ball game with the 4 turnovers being the big difference. It was a fun game to watch congradulations Jackets and good luck next week to Lynn Camp! It was good to see my good friend Jody Disney and I guess I will see you again in a couple of weeks!

The 4 fumbles was the difference in this game. Three of them by different players and two of those deep in Williamsburg territory but thats part of the game if you don't hang onto the ball your not gonna win.

I would agree if you are counting turnover on downs and punts as turnovers! But there have been many games played where there were no fumble or interceptions and someone still won and there has been games where only one team fumbled or threw interceptions and that team won. I was just pointing out that your ordinary turnovers don't always decide the winner of a game!

There are two plays in my mind that this game hinged on.

 

LC had stopped W'burg at the goal line, got the ball back and fumbled it two plays later inside their own 10. This led to a "freebie" TD for Williamsburg.

 

LC intercepted W'burg and returned the ball to inside W'burg's 10. LC had the ball moving well and I think it was 2nd and goal from the 6. Movement on the line moved the ball to the 11 and the Jackets were able to stop the Cats.

 

Football is a game of inches and you have to play smart to win.

The turnovers hurt the Cats, but the field position on turnovers killed them.

Jackets earned the win.

I did want to return to something with jacket25. Even with all the turn overs, Williamsburg did not "Name The Score" as you said they could. (Unless, of course, this was the score that they named. I would expect more points in a "We Name The Score" beat down , though.)

I think everyone but maybe 1 person expected a close game. I think both teams have some good players and players that play hard but I think Ryan Moses made Wburg the better team.

Most fans think about Lynn Camp and they think physical football, I mean they call them selves the "Hitmen"

 

Williamsburg is thought of a more of a finesse team, with the "Air Jacket" thing going on.

 

Looks like Williamsburg beat Lynn Camp at their own game.

 

Williamsburg won the game becuase they were more physical and more varied in their offense, while Lynn Camp had no passing game what so ever. That let Williamsburg really concentrate on stopping the run, which they did for the most part.
