Why I'm not a UK fan anymore - its not because of Tubby
Noble replied to NEXT's topic in College Football
Kids today go with what ever is the coolest at the moment. Loyalty is something that is slowly fading. Too many players leaving for the NBA or transfering to other NBA teams bigger money. (they need that extra million to feed their kids). Loyalty will mean nothing to this generation unless something changes :( -

You have to remeber though....... Barbourville has no football team and is known as a basketball school where as the Jackets are a football school. You can say Haynes was a bad hire but he won Coach of the Year at the burg, then things went south. Jones looked to be a good thing for the Burg but ....... -

Wasn't there chants of No Mercy against Williamsburg last year in district play? and to be honest with you all..... Williamsburg doesn't have the numbers to keep a conistent program going from year to year, it's just the nature of the small school. Most coaches who want to win year in and year out are not going to want to deal with that. Even Wright would have come to the Burg he would have left as soon as a better job was opened. Now there are exceptions to this rule, but for the most part nope, or Williamsburg could have kept a Coach longer than they have. Although I think Robinson may stick around for a while. -

IMHO times have changed and as long as wright is there it won't go back to those days. I would loved to be proved wrong though. -

Maybe he needs to Coach at a school like Williamsburg (and play schools with 5 times the numbers, or with Notre Dame recruits)to really test his coaching skills out. Humble Pie is pretty bitter I hear. -

SL will when this District 9 out of 10 years if not more, unless something drastic happens. There is no way the other schools in this district will match up with SL on a consistent basis. -

Wright must really hate the Burg.......did someone forget to tell him that Coach Haynes is no longer at Williamsburg. -
Didn't Pennington Coach at Williamsburg at one time?

My apologies about Frazier playing QB at the higher levels, I was referring to the NFL. I think he is more than totally capable of QB at the college level. I know root is short but if he has some speed he can be another John Lynch or Sanders at Safety. I'm a firm believer that work ethic and desire can take you places everyone else tells you that you can't. There are quite a few shorter players in the NFL these days.
-
its amazing seeing some of you all rag on the burg for winning a game. I think sometimes some of you big dogs forget what its like to be a small dog.
-
Root and Frazier both have the work ethic to make it at any level. I'm talking about the NFL and College. Root is very smart, loves to hit people and loves football. Frazier is the same way. I don't think frazier can play the QB at higher levels but he is good enough to play defense or tailback somewhere. You can put root anywhere you want and he'll do well. Any college that passes these two up are idiots.

Thoughts on Re-districting (a year later)
Noble replied to Hoops Yoda's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Lynn Camp is closer. So you could switch them. O wait.......Lynn Camp is not exactly right off the interstate!!! Basketball districts are a Darn joke. Period. Don't even try to back it up with the sweet 16 tourney. The all A classic makes almost as much money in Richmond. It's sad and a waste of time for schools. -
Whitley 79 Williamsburg 43

pretty sad calling if you ask me, but I guess Whitley needed the confidence after getting beat by the little ol burg in Mcreary. -
The best thing about the Somerset-Hazard Game
Noble replied to AverageJoesGym's topic in KY Football (High School)
Thank you for sharing. Good luck this week!! -
I think Williamsburg played Cole for part of the game single coverage, with some some doubling here and there. It didn't work out well either way.

I don't think the difference is all that much in road time int he districts, but hey I guess all us poor mountain teams are so glad you have given us our district back. That's the kind of talk that so many people don't like about Somerset. You have always looked down your nose at the other teams in this district and when one of them happened to beat you, excuses were made and insults were thrown. The fact of the matter, us poor moutain teams have done alot more with alot less and most of us still manage to be civil while taking our thumpings. Somerset on the other hand doesn't like to lose and that is I think pretty evident by the fact you chose to play in a weak football district as opposed to one with Corbin and Middlesboro. I mean 20 minutes of travel time on a friday night is no excuse. Middlesboro is as close as Harlan or Cumberland, or Evarts. Corbin is really close, closer than Wburg. So you can enjoy your continued success whupping up on teams with less talent. Without they said though. Good Luck to you in the rest of the playoffs. You should beat Hazard by about 3 or 4 TDs.

is that Crawford kid the one from Williamsburg? or is that another kid that plays for Corbin?
