  1. Getting back to the original question. Would Mercer Co me in the state finals w/o Harrodsburg. NO. I don't think either team would be in the state finals.
  2. I can remember when Rockcastle Co went to Cov Cath on a Sat in 2001 and were the underdogs and won 17-14. It does take a lot of luck and yet a good team to accomplish this. Rockcastle Co once again had to face highlands in 2002 in the semi finals and won big at home. Again it takes a good team and luck to get there. Johnson Central had a good team this year and went to the semis before getting beat. The main point I am bringing across here is that once you realize you can do this, then you know you have a chance again if you keep on working at it. The experience JC had this year will take them a long way in the future. This senior group laid the foundation for something great in the future that the younger players must continue to build on.
  3. I have seen both teams play. Johnson Central has the best RB and LOS. There is no way that RC can stop JC. It will be a blow out. Bye Bye Rock. Best of luck next week in the semi-finals JC.
  4. Rock offense started 2 sophmores, 1 junior, and 8 seniors. Defense started 3 sophmores, 2 juniors, and 6 seniors. 2 other sophmores saw a lot of playing time, plus 4 other juniors. Rock does lose the bulk of the team. That is the way it is every year. The worse losses will be on the LOS.
  5. Great pictures. TD looks good to me. Had plenty of time to gain possession of the ball. Too bad the officials didn't see Bell QB cross the LOS when he threw the one pass tonight. A face mask was called but he replay clearly shows the hand did not touch his face mask.
  6. Lewis played till the end, when he threw for over 60 yards on the last drive of the night over the JV/Freshmen team for their last score.
  7. A much closer ame than the 1st one.
  8. I stated that this would not be a blow out. I was correct. Knox Central has a very good team. They are physical up front. It could be an upset next week on Log Mt.
  9. All the fields were in bad shape tonight. Believe we have had some rain the last few days. Where have you been? Gripe, Gripe, Gripe. Congratulations Trible Co on a good season. You played a great game tonight.
  10. Estill in 3 OT's 6-0.
  11. He's a brick. The entire team lifts 2 days a week to maintain their strength they gained in the off season.
  12. The only thing that will ugly about this game is that Rock will struggle to win. Knox Central has a fine team and fundamentally sound. Rock better play their A game.
  13. Just run the ball. It don't cost you anything. And it still wins games. That is what is amazing.
  14. Good thing Bowling decided to not stay in Alabama. What would it have been w/o him?
  15. When the DL chops the OL and falls down in front of them there is not much the OL can do but fall on top of them. This is not called holding someone down. If Bell Dl stood up and played them, they would have been driven backwards.
  16. Bell was 0-10 in '82, the year before Dudley.
  17. Marion Co must be an improved football team from the past. I figured SW would win this game easily. What is the future for Marion Co? Are they a senior team?
  18. There will be a different offensive game plan for Rock the next round too. The pass will be there, loosening up the box. The penalties in the red zone on Rock will not occur either.
  19. Madison Southern has more athletes and much more speed on the field than Rock. As far as the kicking game, MS is ahead in this category, but not by much. I feel like this could be one of their weaknesses. This chould be a close game. Rock must play hard and make every play count to win this one.
  20. Well said. These concerns should come at the end of the season. Why cause distractions to the team. All this does is cause lack of confidence in the coach from the players.
  21. A hard fought game by both teams. Rock couldn' t stop the passing game and Bell couldn't stop the running game, even though they had 8 men in the box all night. Looks like if the game is played again in Nov. that Rock will need to pass the ball and get someone out of the box. Rock will for sure have to cover the pass better. I don't think Bell could have lined up and ran the ball. Mental mistakes by Rock almost cost them the game. Penalties on offsides was terrible. These two teams could very well meet the 2nd round. It will be at the Rock again. That is what this game was all about. Who gets the home field advantage. Rock must first win over Madison Southern next week.
  22. I agree. He sure degraded the Rock in the Regional Finals last season.
  23. Clay Co had 17 yards rushing and 209 passing against Rockcastle Co. Miller of Rockcastle Co had 277 rushing.
