Truefully I expected this to happen after last Friday, so this comes as no suprise to me. I don't think this was as big a deal as people might see it to be.

If this is simply a case of parents being upset at the record, its silly and embarrassing to the BC community.

It's High School football. Anyone can win on any given night. It would be embarrassing like he stated above. Just because the parents kids arent as good as the previous years, they want the coach out. (I'm assuming their not as good)

I guess this proves that we don't have a monopoly on spoiled fans in St. Matthews.

If it was a simply case of parents being upset at the record then it would be embarassing to the BC community. Since it isn't that simple, then it isn't embarrassing to the BC community or it isn't to this poster. I think that people need to understand that it isn't about a win loss situation. Oh you might hear that it is, but it isn't. I've known for a long time that there is way more things important in life than a game and I hope that the right people start to understand that also. I would hope that before people continue to yell "foul on the parents, team and fans", they would take the time to hear from all that is involved - the players. I would also hope that as parents, people would put themselves into the situation that some of these parents find themselves in, and then come back and let them know what you think.

The "heart" of the situation is underclassmen playing over upperclassmen, right???

Nope!

So, do tell...

Again, NOPE. My hope is that this situation will right itself soon and this team can get back on track. I will say this and anyone who knows me knows this is the truth. I have never said a word against this team or the coaches in all these years. I've had a brother who stood the sidelines for 4 years and never once did I or any of our family say one word to a coach. Why not? Because we knew that there were better players on the team. I watched my nephew stand the sidelines most of his time at Boyle county and nothing was said. Why? Because we knew there were better players than him. This is not about who is playing and who isn't. This is not about the record. This is all about the kids and again, no matter what anyone says, that is exactly what it is about. Hopefully, everyone can get it together and work out the problems and I truly pray that people will start to understand that this is a kids game for kids. It is not about us the fans and not about the parents. If anyone thinks that we (our family) is concerned about a record, then they don't know us as well as they thought they did. We would never put a game ahead of a child, never have and never will.

I would have to agree with you on this one. No matter what there might be better players that are younger, but there needs to be some support in the coach that so many parents and fans wanted when Coach Chuck Smith left. Every program has its highs and lows, and Boyle had there down years and Chuck Smith and STAFF made this school a dynasty. Just because they are down this year, don't mean they will not be as successful next year. The school system hires coaches to lead a program based on his ablilty to help the kid and if they can win games, titles, etc... so that coach looks even better but it takes support from parents, fans, administration to have a complete program.

Any team can win/lose on any given night and the negativity of parents/fans will IMHO reflect the attitude of some of the players and bring conflict and differences in attitude.

If this man is not a good man/person, then he shouldn't be there - but I have heard nothing but great things about his offensive mind and ways he can help young people. If he wasn't the man for the job, I think they would have honestly went elsewhere rather than within the system.

My point being that don't be negative on this season. Sure, it is not typical Boyle this year but other teams improve as well. I hope all kids that play football at any school get the opportunity to play and enjoy their time as a player. I know that some kids that play football, but may not be the most talented but yet turn out to be really good people and some even get involved in coaching and just benefit from the experience of the game of football.

I agree 100%!!:thumb: ... When Boyle Co was winning, there were still upset parents over something... not all parents were happy back then, but the team was successful so who would dare say anything?!?... but now that they're on a bit of a losing streak the fans/parents are ready to pounce!

I agree... the kids' best interests should be at heart... wonder if the parents practice what they preach?!?

PITIFUL!!

oh yeh... think about this too... the parents requesting this meeting with the Superintendent in the middle of the season is horrible! This meeting alone is yet another distraction to the kids and the football program! They could have addressed their concerns with the Superintendent at the end of the season... this also doesn't speak well of the Supt. IMO. How can coaches and players concentrate when junk like this goes on?!

There is no negative attitude in this household. Believe it or not, this is not talked about in our house. Our first thought has always been - what is best for the kids and I hope that from this time forward, that will also be the first thought from everyone. Life always give your hurdles to overcome and I pray that this is just a small hurdle that these kids and everyone involved can get over.

I can see that if not resolved by the playoffs we can expect Moxen, Billy Bob, Lance, and Tweeder to overthrow Coach Kilmer at halftime and come out running the oopty-oop.

Good ole Title Town.... good ole title town:sssh:

So you and your family are not part of the problem. We get that. Back to the topic at hand...
