Boyle football parents meet with superintendent, principal

Featured Replies

The "heart" of the situation is underclassmen playing over upperclassmen, right???

That seemed to be the crux of it from the long thread this past week.

If not that, then what were the parents' complaints when they met with the Super?

Well without any "insider" info we are left with going by the news report. That seems to point at the losing record and the fact that the fans (parents) can't stand it. I really fault the principal and the super for granting ameeting like this. If they are compelled to allow the meeting they should have stood up for the coach and admonished the fans(parents).

So you and your family are not part of the problem. We get that. Back to the topic at hand...
I don't think you get the point.
I don't think you get the point.

I get the point. And I'm ready to look deeper into it than the RK's...

I don't think you get the point.

I guess I don't either, BF. Can you help us out? What are we missing?

Here is what I know of this, some Sr. parents had no clue of this meeting untill reading it in the newspaper today. This tells me that it's a few parents, not every parent on the team is involved in this. This is really been blowned up worse than it really is. This has nothing to do with underclassman playing and the upperclassman setting the bench. My guess, and I believe it to be true is some parents are upset at the coach for giving up on the starters in such an important game period. This was not a lynch mob, even though some in the state might want or wish that, but it wasn't.

Bottom line, pulling this in the middle of the season is ridiculous. Unless the guy committed a crime, was immoral, unethical or had any other issue, you don't lead this distraction...period.

This was not a lynch mob, even though some in the state might want or wish that, but it wasn't.

Why would some in the state wish that? You have lost me

I agree with LSURock this meeting should have never taken place.

If your winning people just always root for the underdog. That's true in any sport. The lord knows we have had our share of winning. So, my belief is that people across the state are not feeling any sorrow for Boyle right now, and loving every second of whats going on. I'm not saying all, but most people. If everybody was true to their feelings, a poll would prove it. That's just the way sports are.

It's like Kentucky fans, I know I was loving every second of how bad of season Tennesse was having last season. Nascar Fans love Jeff Gordon not making the chase last season, or Stewart not making it this season, People just love to see their arch rival struggle.

I truly hope there is more to situation than just playing time or record. If it is about the teams record this season then, that is laughable because it was only just a short time ago that Boyle Co., was a statewide laughingstock in football. I will reserve my personal judgement until everything pans out, however from an outsider's perspective it does seem to be a case of whiny overbearing parents. However I do not know all the facts and will not judge anyone.

Whatever the case may be, all this turmoil is only doing one thing in Boyle County, hurting the kids.

Man I'm telling you!!!!!!!! You cats in the Danville area act like you guys can never have a down year, it happens everywhere..... You all just need to chill, if you can't do that why don't you apply for the job and see if you can do better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom line is this.

· You can get on here and post your opinion, you can even say things that partially back up your opinions, but you can just as easy leave things off that would contradict your opinion.

· These kids from Boyle County are able to get on here, and yes parents/fans you have a huge impact on them. You can choose to have a positive impact or a negative impact, and a lot of what I am seeing on BGP is mainly negative. So, whether or not you realize it, you are contributing just as much as anything to the same situation you are not happy about. All you are doing is compounding what is a very fixable problem at this point.

· If this truly is about the kids, the entire Boyle County team, which is what “Everyone is cheering for” supposedly, then why last Friday night when the sophomores and freshman took the ball down the field and put the ball in the endzone against the same PSW defense that some of the upperclassmen were not able to execute against, why weren’t all the parents/fans up cheering for the touchdown? Shocking to me that some sat there and never clapped b/c maybe their son didn’t score, or wasn’t in when BC scored? B/c that was definitely a positive moment Friday night.

· Parents and fans also remember this: even if you do/did go to every practice that a football team has from July-December, and you thought your son was giving a great effort, how many parents really know who everyone is supposed to block, or what route they are supposed to run, etc. We don’t, plain and simple. And if you aren’t there everyday, you definitely don’t know what kind of effort Little Johnny is giving during practice. Coaches do. So let them do there job and support the decisions that are made and cheer on your TEAM, not individuals, but the team. And I’m not sure what coaches make, but I would say it is almost next to nothing for the hours they put in, on top of having to put up with all of the “Concerned Supporters,” and be responsible for anywhere from 30-70 young peoples lives everyday, in and out.

· With all that said, Parents/Fans/Supporters, you can choose to continue to be negative and try to destroy the confidence that is Boyle County Football, or you can choose to have a positive attitude at home with these kids/or when you are around them, and on here-where they do read what is said, and support the BOYLE COUNTY FOOTBALL FAMILY, yes players, parents, coaches, and the entire BCHS family, and rally them on. BCHS Rebs, if you are on here, good luck tomorrow night with Pulaski County! Focus on the good, eliminate the bad, play with heart, execute and bring home a W tomorrow night as a FAMILY! Don’t worry about me, I’ll be cheering all of you on! GO BLACK AND GOLD!
