These are great pick ups (Leffew brothers, Yeast, Miller) for Mike Settles. I was told that Dean Wilks, former OL/DL coach is now the middle school head coach. I'm thinking that allowed both Bobby and Travis to be there at LCHS. Can anyone confirm that Wilks is the Middle School HC? Can you finalize the coaching staff at LCHS?

He applied for the West Jessamine job after Hammonds left for Letcher Central. He was an assistant coach there and was running the summer league stuff for West. He is a fiery young coach. He was a standout player at Boyle. He will do a decent job and will grow and mature as a young head coach.

What he did in high school don't even matter. What he has done at the middle school don't matter. Its a totally different game at the high school level. He is a middle school coach and will do ok at the high school level, but I don't see him being as good as Randy Wood, a former coach that lead the team to back to back winning season - playoff berths that you had to earn to get into rather than the 4 team district where you automatically are in the 1st round. Turner had been an assistant under Larry Maggard and quit due to difference coaching philosophies, and then quit after being the head coach and a 3 win season. I don't know if he is capable of not staying longer than a year or 2. He basically walked into a job that they had to hire from within the school system. Once a quitter - always a quitter IMO.

Just because you are successful in middle school, don't mean you will be at the high school level. No matter what kind of person you are - if you can't teach and relate to the kids, they will not play.

Probably the Belly with some sort of passing offense - same at Johnson Central. They are used to the passing stuff with Whitaker.

I may be wrong, but I believe he and the raido guy from there are related - maybe brothers. :confused:
